ive bought a new cable that's not the problem however I do notice when I plug the usb cable to my camera the digital screen goes blank I unplug and my pictures appear so also I acnt get my computer to even recognize my camera

Nikon Coolpix L830: "this card cannot be read" Nikon Coolpix L830

I recently bought a SDHC memory card and when I turn on my Nikon Coolpix L830 there's this message "This card cannot be read" and I cannot do anything with the camera.

I'm aware that I need to format the card, but I can't access the menu (or do anything, really) because the message just won't disappear. Is there any other way to format the card with the camera's settings?

Nikon Coolpix L830: Why does putting an SD card reset my settings?

I haven't used my camera for a couple months but I recently pulled it back out and when I turned it on the setting were reset and I needed to set the time zone again.

After doing that, I realized I hadn't inserted the SD card so I turned it off and put the one I had on the side for it, this is the one i have specifically for this camera so I e used it many times. When i turned it back on, not only did it take a few moments longer but the setting were reset again. It told me the card could not be read.

I took the card out and formatted it with my computer as I know I need to sometimes but when. I did put it back in, I got the same thing as the first time. I took it out and tested it in my other Nikon's and had no issues with the others. Turning the camera on without the SD card this time didn't reset my settings or make it take longer.

I even tried with other SD cards to see if it was just that one but any SD card is having the same affect on the camera. Any idea why?

Nikon coolpix L830 started to place messages , card can not be read., i turn it off them On and it worked.

Now the camera does not turn on with the batteries , I plug it to the power supply and that's how it works.

I dropped my camera yesterday from about knee height and now when ever I pick up or move he camera it makes a high pitch squeaking sound it only makes the noise when the camera is on and the noise is loudest when it is on full zoom

I went to the eiffel tower. I took pictures before going through the security check point. The security person dropped my camera and the batteries came out. After putting them back in I went to take photos and everything worked like it should. It turned on but nothing on the screen. I tried to take it photos and everything worked like it should except for the screen. Then I reviewed my photos and I could view the photos I took before the drop but now it is just taking blank pictures. It will take it and continue on and take another blank photo. So it seems it has to be in the lens but theres no rattling or anything to make it seem like anything is wrong with it.

Recently I discovered a small piece of lint on the inner lens of my Nikon Coolpix L830. Since this camera is how I make a living as a photographer at car dealerships it is very important for the pics to be free of any spots. Can the very outer lens be removed to clean the inner? If so how? I use the L830 because of its speed and accuracy.
