Nikon Coolpix 3200: I think my SD slot reader is broken.

I once had a smaller card that didn't fit the slot reader jammed into the camera I didn't realize it but when I took a knife and jammed it in there and got the card unstuck I think I may have broken one of the pins in the card reader because now my camera will not read any card I can't even format the card when I put into the camera it just says the memory card cannot be used and I've tried formatting the cards in different ways and I even formatted it to one gigabyte which is supposedly the maximum size cards that the camera reads and I changed the formatting settings on the card put it into the camera and it still doesn't work what do I do

Nikon Coolpix 3200: Unable to take a picture, I can change data fields, the lens will zoom

I think the shutter is not releasing. If I turn "flash" on and try to take a pic; it will flash I can view all pics already on the memory card. However, the pic I just tried to take is just a blank . If I select"Sport" mode and depress the button. I can hear it try to take the five pics as it should. Again, all blanks. How can I fix it? The camera is an E3200.

This is in response to "oldturkey03's asking for clarification.

Nikon Coolpix 3200: Why does my screen go black & red light flash after I take flash photo

After I take a flash photo, my screen goes black for about 10 seconds and a red light blinks where the flash indicator is. After the 10 seconds the screen comes back and i’m able to take another photo. when I take a photo without flash the green focus light will also flash for a few seconds and I have to wait those few seconds for my photo to go away instead of being able to immediately take another photo. I read the whole manual online and didn’t see this problem in the troubleshooting. I didn’t used to have this problem when I first got the camera but stopped using it for a few months while I waited for my 2gb sim card to come in and am now having problems.

The battery cover won't snap closed any more. After sliding it in place and closing, the lid does not catch. It springs open. The unsatisfactory remedy is to use a rubber band to keep the lid closed.

Please give me an idea on how to fix it.

Thanks, Lara
