Nexus 6: My Nexus 6 battery will not charge

Hey, so I performed a glass-only repair on my Nexus 6 (I run small repair business). All went well, the display looks/ works fantastic and everything works fine except the battery.

Nothing seems to have been damaged, but the battery will no longer take a charge. I've tried the Moto turbo charger, PC USB, Samsung chargers, all the same issue.

The device will absolutely happily work while plugged in...it just won't charge the battery. The battery just 'flat-lines' no charge / no depletion. The charging bolt shows on the icon, but status shows 'Not charging'.

I successfully flashed the latest Android 6 via USB cable. I have wiped and formatted everything. I did notice that it was charging (went from 10% up to 34%) while booted into TWRP custom recovery whilst doing a backup - but since I restored stock > updated Android 6 > flashed latest TWRP it no longer charges even in TWRP recovery.

I have let the battery deplete and automatically power off, then left on charge for a few hours but it still won't take a charge. The device boots up with 1% and will just happily work forever on 1% while plugged in.

Any ideas?

Nexus 6: Is it possible that it's overcharged? Which contacts to measure?

My Nexus 6 pooped out on me yesterday. The previous night it shut down randomly (Not powered down- just went black and then started back up.) and I didn't think much of it. The next morning it froze briefly and shut down just like last night, except it didn't power on. It was on the charger, but wasn't warm at all as it had been charging all night. I tried to access the fastboot (I had it enabled) but nothing, no response at all. So I had to tear it down. It was plugged in both times it shut down.

Once I had access to the battery connector, I measured it with my multimeter. The two contacts on the sides had "P+" and "P-" under them, like this:

When I contacted my multimeter to these, it registered 4.10 volts. I know this isn't normal voltage for this battery, but shouldn't it still start up? Any chance it ruined the logic board? Upon inspection, the logic board looks perfect. At least the front side of it. The battery looks visually perfect too.

@avanteguarde Any chance you think this is firmware related?

@theimedic @refectio is it bad for an iPhone battery to be above 3.7v? Do you think I wasn't measuring the voltage right?

I was saving up for something else more important and I don't want to buy a new phone right now, so if I can make this one last another 12 months that would be great.

Nexus 6: Can I fix my 3.5 mm jack? [pic]

Got a nexus 6 64 gb 3 weeks ago. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is not functioning properly. The problem consists of the audio being

1) very low volume and

2) distorted in a specific way; the bass and parts of the midrange seem to be missing.

The result when listening to news etc on radio is that some people's voices sound fine and others very low or distorted. Music sounds completely distorted.

This is an intermittent problem. I've tried using my regular headphones which work fine with other devices. They have a TRRS plug and a switch to swap between android and iPhone compatiblity although this setting does nothing in this case, sounds the same. When I plugged these in yesterday just to see if the problem was still there the sound was completely fine, problem gone. Later that day I tried again and the problem was there.

I've tried plugging in a pair of other TRRS-plug headphones which work in other devices with the same result.

Now, I tried plugging in another pair of headphones which have a TRS-plug and these always work. So if I plug in my TRRS-plug headphones, problem is there, switch to my TRS-plug headphones, problem is gone.

I can't figure out any other explanation than that the 3.5mm jack on my nexus 6 is broken.

Here's a pick of my plugs: http://imgur.com/FuqavHv

Nexus 6: Charging problem and holding charge problems

My Nexus 6 will only recognize that it is plugged in to charge if I first turn it off plug it in while it is off wait for the battery to flash charging then turn it back on.If I just plug it in while its turned on it simple doesn’t recolonize its plugged in at all. and it only charges with what seems like random cords Example both cords that came with the phone will no longer work at all with it but they charge my Blu phone just fine but my Blu phone cord will charge it after I do the turn off then plug in dance. I tried doing a factory reset hoping that if it is a software issue that would resolve it to no avail. Not only that when I charge it fully I can use it for an hour leave it on sleep mode till the next morning and its so dead all you get is the flashing dead battery icon. Has anyone else had similar problems? Any ideas what might be causing all of this?

Nexus 6: How to tell if motherboard or screen problem

I dropped my Nexus 6 on the floor the other day, the top left corner glass is chipped, but no additional damage. Screen won't turn on. Plugging into power warms up the phone., so at least the battery charges... Phone was on silent/DND before, so is there a way to tell if the motherboard was damaged or just the screen/digitizer? I don't remember the phone ever vibrating on startup (during the Google screen).

I popped open the back, the power/volume buttons cable had popped out of its socket at the top corner I put it back. Still no power to screen, removed screws and battery tray, made sure all other cables to between motherboard and display were secured.

Should I just go ahead and ebay a screen unit and replace the screen to see if it was that, or does this sound like an issue with the mobo?

Nexus 6: Nexus 6 Phone won't charge after Water Damage

So my Nexus 6 fell in the water, I was under impression it is water proof, but when the screen started flickering I knew it's not so water resistance/proof, so I decided to turn it off and put in rice, it was so desperation to check if it's working or not, but I still left it in rice for 2 days. After 2 days, when I tried to turn it on, it didn't turn on, so I plug it to power and left for couple of hours for charging, when I came back and tuned it on, it did turn on, but the battery was still showing as 1%. Generally with Motorola turbo charger it should be 100% by now.

So I figured it's not charging and need troubleshooting/repair. I checked Motorola warranty was void with water damage, so decided to do repair myself. First off I tried charging from Qi charger, hoping there should be short circuit in regular charging, but that didn't work either. So I thought maybe battery is gone, so I ordered a new batter and replaced it successfully, but the new battery is also not charging. When I opened the phone I noticed some water stains on the unit next to USB connector, that would be charging unit.

Does anyone know, if replacing the charging unit is possible, what's the part number. Is there anything else I can do? The phone work perfectly while connected to power, no issues in the screen or anywhere else, I have been using the phone connected to power for few days now.

If someone can confirm this phone can't be repaired, I would love to buy new Nexus or OnePlus 3 :-). Any help or ideas are appreciated.
