Nest Cam Outdoor: What is the function of all these wires

My Google camera GJQ9T has a wire that runs between the camera and the power supply that plugs into the 120 outlet. I needed to cut the cable, now I have to repair the cut wire. From what I read the camera needs 5 volts, therefore I should need only 2 wires. Inside the cable I find 2 red wires, 1 white wire, 1 green wire, 1 wire for the shield. What is the function of all these wires, which ones should I use

Thank you

Steve

My house is new construction and has a low voltage hardwire in place for a security camera. I want to wire the Nest Cam Outdoor to this hardwire. Any thoughts on how it should be spliced and attached. Could I just cut the USB cable and attach the power wires directly to the house hardwiring?

Nest Cam Outdoor: Google Nest Cam will not connect

I have tried every way possible but I cannot get it to connect. I have a second nest cam that works perfectly. The next cam with the problem is fairly close to my router. I have done a factory reset and still nothing. The set up process goes well until the final phase and it just then says that it "encountered a problem". The camera worked well for over a year until one day it stopped connecting. All effort to reconnect have failed. :-(

Nest Cam: Rated M for mature, can I replace the power port & the mic on my nest

First, I’ll start with when Google 🚨 purchased nest, when migrating over to Google 🚨 I ran into some issues and I had to call guess who? Yeah, Google 🚨, the tech-support walked me through resetting my Nest cams, and during that process, they had me take a metal paper clip and stick it right in a tiny reset hole on the bottom rim of the camera they said, hold it there and press firmly and wait until the light flashes. I did exactly as Google 🚨 instructed and nothing happened, to further troubleshoot they had me do it to get another cam. I acquiesce the request and again nothing happened. Couple more attempts and they said well we could do it from our end. OK, thinking to myself jackasses why didn’t you do that 30 minutes ago.?

Well, we got the cameras up and running long after that I started to realize my sound sucked out of warranty and Google 🚨’s not gonna do anything about it. It’s not their problem right? Now years later infinitely smarter, which is insane much. As I have ingrained myself deep within the DIY community and the &&^& yourself I can do it for way less you gouging Theiving bastards. ( thinking of the time my insurance company gave me $14,000 to repair the flood damage to my home and not only did I repair them all, but I upgraded everything doing it myself for a little more than 1200 bucks.)

In the process of doing so I uncovered a little known fact…… that wasn’t a reset yet jackasses! That wasn’t my %#*@ mic you had me poking with a metal paper clip with firm pressure! Essentially, Google 🚨 took over nest and then had tech-support sabotage and destroy my cameras, forcing me to upgrade them! Cocksuckers I feel like there’s a class action suit there, not to mention come on. I’m not that paranoid guy that thinks it was just me! How many other people out there the Google 🚨 have jamming things into their microphone essentially destroying them?

But I digress during this exploratory mission to fix an original nest drop cam that the slightest touch would cause it to disconnect because the power port was coming loose!

Which brings me back to good old iFixit!

Is it possible to replace the Mic in the power port on the original, I believe GEN two nest cams drop cam?

If so, could someone kindly direct me to the parts to do so?

Same project bonus question, can I upgrade those old Micro B Cables, also known as the android cable, also known as the most fidgety &&^&^$^ cable in existence?

Bonus bonus question who’s with me let’s sue Google 🚨 for being jackasses! Just kidding unless there’s a really bad ass attorney reading this right now yeah dude hit me up lol.

Nest Cam: Cut and repair the power cable to the outside nest cam?

I bought the outside nest cam but the connector is like 3/4 around. Trying to fish that through the soffit is quite hard. I'm pretty technical but cutting the power supply and repairing on a $250 camera seems somewhat risky if I mess it up. My question is on the line that is connected to the camera if I cut it is it easy to repair?
