Raspberry Pi 5: Change PCIe plastic clip

I broke one side of the plastic clip which keep in place the FFC cable, is there a way to replace just the clip and not the entire PCIe connector? I was able to push the clip back inside and for now seems like it could stay in place and the nvme hat it's working but better safe than sorry

Intel NUC: NUC working fine for a few years, but suddenly no HDMI signal

Hi, my NUC7i7DNK worked fine for a few years as a media PC connected to a 75" TV. Now when I came home from a week vacation the NUC do not seem to give any HDMI screen signal any more. I have tried another HDMI cable, I have got another PC to view sccreen on the same HDMI port on the TV. Restart of the NUC does not help... When I restart the NUC the power LED blinks a few time and end up having orange continuous light. The TV seems to notice that the NUC HDMI cablle is connected (because that HDMI input nuber is showing n the TV but TV still says no signall). Disconnecting the NNUC HDMI makes the HDMI input disappaer from the TV screen. Connecting another PC it shows the screen on the TV. What error/fautt suddenly appaering can cause such behaviour?

Intel NUC: D54250WYK hang/freeze at Intel NUC Logo Page - Tried so many things

I made a small change to the BIOS recently (sound at startup) and my NUC now refuses to boot - always hanging at the Intel NUC logo page. I have tried:

Moving BIOS Jumper PIN from 1/2 to 2/3.
Unplugging / Replacing CMOS battery
Removing SSD / Removing RAM / Only using RAM in 1 slot / Only using one RAM in other slot
Downloading latest firmware onto USB stick (but can never get the USB stick to basically load the BIOS recovery)
Long pressing the power button with the CMOS battery disconnected to discharge
Tried using miniDP to DP on one monitor, and mini-HDMI to HDMI on a TV.

Additional Info:

I managed to get in BIOS once (not quite sure of exact steps) but I reset to defaults / F9 and saved, but still nothing then worked - still froze on NUC logo screen.

One time I managed to get to the GRUB menu and it launched into booting Linux Mint but it got a Kernel Panic.

Sometimes the CPU fan spins / sometimes it does not. Sometimes it won't POST at all (slow flashing light). Sometimes it's showing a solid blue light but nothing at all on the screen.

Sometimes the F2 Setup / F7 text appears in bottom right hand corner of logo screen, but can't replicate this many times.

Sometimes with the USB stick in the port, it will say "not bootable medium" (the USB is FAT32 formatted with MBR).

As further background, I was using the NUC with a GRUB menu (Windows 10, Linux Mint and Batocera) - Linux Mint defaulting after 5 seconds if nothing selected. Everything working without issue until I changed that one setting in BIOS!

I think essentially the NVRAM is now in a bad place, and the Boot Order is completely screwed / some kind of partially reset but not fully reset stage or something crazy.....but I cannot find for the life of me find a definitive way to reversing this issue.

I feel like I have verified all the components - CPU, RAM, SSD, Wifi Card are all still working, but the BIOS / NVRAM is corrupt.

Any help would be appreciated - some kind of final checklist or correct order to salvaging this.

Raspberry Pi 5: Power supply burnt out

My raspberry pi 5 burned out.I suspect the chip behind the TYPE-C burned out. I tried using GPIO for power supply and it booted up normally. I wonder if there is any way to repair it.

And I found a capacitor or resistor short circuit,anyone know its value?thanks

I did a visual inspection and found one IC that is burnt.

It appears the power adaptor malfunctioned and provided over voltage.

However, I could not find where I can buy it.

My Intel NUC 11 (PAHi7) has a dislodged ribbon cable from the main board and it has been damaged I was wondering if this is fixable and if so where to get an up to spec ribbon cable?

Since Asus took over the support for Intel NUCs they don't do expired-warranty-repairs only one-for-one swaps for Intel products under warranty in HKSAR.

Raspberry Pi 3 Model B: How to setup VPN on Raspberry Pi 3 connected to Mesh System

Howdy folks!

I have a raspberry pi model 3 B+. I want to install ProtonVPN on the raspberry pi usinVPN or somthing similar.

Ideally I am hoping to hardwire the raspberry pi to my ISP modem/router then have the Raspberry pi run the VPN software. Then, since the raspberry pi only has 1 physical Ethernet port, use a USB Ethernet adapter and direct the VPN internet out of the USB Ethernet adapter into my TP-Link Deco Mesh System.

Is it possible to have the incoming internet be form say ETH0 (built in Ethernet port) and then send internet into the Mesh through say ETH1 (USB Ethernet adapter)?

This way the entire mesh network can be VPN secured household wide and the raspberry pi can be connected between the ISP modem router & my mesh system?

I wanted to boot ubuntu on my pi and i completely erased the files on the sd card. later, i was applying heatsinks on my board and noticed a little brown something on my board under the "GPIO" text under the headers. At first it felt like dirt to me and i pulled it out and later i realized solder marks under it. I am extremely anxious to know whether my raspberry will still function or not, and whats the ic number. Also, is it possible to get it fixed?

I have tried redownloading raspberry pi images from the official releases and configuring them for WiFi and SSH’ing into it as I have to run it headlessly however it doesn’t seem to be connecting to the WiFI or Ethernet when I plug it in, the ethernet lights however do come on. If anyone could help me for why this is not connecting I would be very thankful!

I have my raspberry pi 4 plugged into a Anker surge protector (same thing happens without the surge protector) with this old Acer monitor that I had around, when it boots it will get to the color screen than disconnect, the monitor says no signal, raspberry pi worked on a TV but refuses to work with the monitor. I plugged an old Roku Stick into the monitor and it works. Any idea why my raspberry pi doesn't work with the monitor? Model number for the monitor is S231HL
