NES Classic Edition: Zapper gun not hitting anything on screen

Hi guys,

I just installed my whole old "NES" set yesterday on a CRT screen i got free from some folks.
I wanted to play Duckhunt with my Zapper gun (which i used some years ago) and i couldn't hit any Duck on screen.
The Zapper gun clicks and the screen flashes, so my shots are registered (i guess).

I tried to clean the gun from the inside (lens and laser with a dry cotton stick), but that didn't do the trick.

Is there any other solution i can try besides cleaning?
Or do i need to buy a new Zapper/replacement laser?

EDIT:
Posted a few pictures for @oldturkey03

NES Classic Edition: NES Controllers Partially working

Hey guys, looking for your expertise. I recently took my old NES (original Nintendo) and controller out but am having some issues regarding the controller inputs. The NES is not fully recognizing the controller inputs. Here are the findings:

-Both Controller 1 & 2 behave the same in NES Port 1. Changing Controller 1 & 2 between the Portsmakes no difference

-Swapping port 1 motherboard plug 1 to mobo plug 2 and vice versa made no difference

-On some games where start is not required the controllers work (ie Klax), they work not only on the initial screen but throughout the game. Both Controllers with the controller port in both Mobo inputs (swapped them)

-On Super Mario 1 when selecting Mario/Duck Hunt the DPad & A/B work but on the 2nd screen to select 1 or 2 Players no buttons work - not just Start but Up/Down also dont work.

-On most games on the initial screen Start does not work. There is no ability to use other buttons.

As such I dont think its the controllers. or the port or the connection to the mobo. I think the mobo is the issue (?)

What do you think it is guys and if its the mobo where should on the board should I look?

The mobo is overwhelming and I dont know how they work.I am not an electrical expert but can figure it out with time I think. I got a multimeter to test.

Appreciate your help, cant wait to play some of these games again!

NES Classic Edition: Super NINTENDO Control Deck CLV-203, HDMI just quit working.

I have a Mini NES Control Deck Model CLV-201, it has been working fine for the past few months but just recently i disconnected it from the TV and reloaded some new games through some roms i downloaded using Hakchi2 CE. Once reconnected to the TV, the power turns on but there is no response from the TV. I've tried switching the HDMI ports, switching HDMI cords, switching power cables as well as wall block, powering down and unplugging both TV and Control Deck and reconnecting it all back up, even flashing and using the original games it first came with, with no luck. I'm open to any and all suggestions that would get my gaming system back up and running.

the TV is an Element Roku TV FYI

NES Classic Edition: No video: new 72 pin connector, disabled lockout pin, cleaned interior

Sorry if this is a repeat of something already posted on here; I searched for similar questions, but couldn’t find any exactly like mine.

I have a NES that isn’t outputting video. When it was given to me, it had the ‘blinking red light’ problem, so I took the following steps:

Installed a new 72-pin connector

Cleaned any visible corrosion with 91% rubbing alcohol

Disabled the locking chip

Verified that the power cable and coax cable are both working

Recleaned the 72-pin connections on the motherboard with 91% rubbing alcohol, doublechecked the pins’ cleanliness and positioning

Tried the machine on channels 3 and 4

Now, the blinking red light problem is gone, but when I turn on the system, nothing but a solid, pinkish / reddish, color appears onscreen. Once in a great while, there will be a bit of garbage onscreen (some random numbers or letters within blocks), but no matter what game I attempt to use (I have a working NES for testing games), the result is basically the same.

Has anyone else had this experience? Any thoughts on what else I could replace or fix? Thanks in advance!

NES Classic Edition: How do you fix the game-slowing issue with mine?

My NES Classic has a strange problem. When the “CRT Filter“ is enabled, some of the games drop in playback speed, especially Ninja Gaiden. The display warps back-and-forth at a slower rate that makes it noticeable, animation slows down, and the sound drops in speed and pitch. This even happens with the demo! This effect usually lasts for a small fraction of a second, but can last for more than three seconds during scenes in Ninja Gaiden where gameplay is not taking place, even over ten seconds occasionally. The effect does come in on occasion in other games like Super Mario Bros. games, but only for a small fraction of a second, a few frames’ time. Does anyone know what is going on here and have a fix for this? Thanks!
