Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation: Why is my screen not turning on anymore?

Long story. Sorry. I got a new phone in February. I dropped my phone for the first time within three days of getting it. It dropped from less than 2 feet but it somehow shattered. Anyway, I have been using a protective case ever since, to keep the screen intact. Today, on my way to school, I sent the usual text and was met with no signal, which was strange as everybody else had one. I had to restart the phone when I found out that it still had no signal 3 hours later. After that, it started working fine. Until a few hours later. The pouch with my phone in it was very VERY high temp for no apparent reason. I took it out to find that the screen would not turn on properly. It had a large cluster of green pixels in the left corner, but that was it. It showed it entirely at random, as in pressing the power button did not initiate that event. An hour later, I came back to it, and it had cooled off, but the screen stopped doing the green pixel thing entirely, so I tried to see if I could turn it off or something. Well, it would vibrate for the " would you like to turn device off?" option, but the screen STILL never turned on. It had been at full battery when I arrived at school, but people insisted that it needed to be charged. Tried that as well, to no avail. I need help. I have no way of contacting anybody, which is an absolute MUST in my household. I am not able to pay the fee to get a replacement, as Verizon is overpriced and we are too poor. Obviously can't order a new one. If I must I could probably figure out how to activate one of my ancient phones, but I still want to see if anybody knew why this happened, and if it is fixable. I am sorry it is so long, but I felt the need for extreme detail.

Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation: Why does my phone keep on restarting then shutting down again? Help!

For the past two days, my phone has been restarting itself to the Motorola logo, then turning itself off, over and over again. I've tried to externally factory reset it and clear the cache partition. Nothing has worked and it always goes back to the Motorola logo only to restart again. Does anybody have any ideas to fix this?

Note: The night before I put my phone to charge at 3%, but it was charging for the entire night. The next day it was in the condition it is now. Don't know if that helps.

Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation: Crashed phone vibrates when plugged but doesn't turn on

This is a weird story, it's even hard to explain so i will make a punctuated list with everything that happened, trying to be as much clear as i can:

1 - the phone crashed, screen broken, black and touch digitizer not working;

2 - the phone kept to stay powered on, so i was able to plug it to the pc and save all of my data;

3 - i opened it and magically the screen started to show something, like the 10 % of the screen was now working (the bottom part, near the unlocking shape), and that gave me the chance to check the sensors which were working, so that gave me the feeling that the phone wasn't broken completely, and just a screen replacement would have helped me fix it at 100%;

4 - unplugged the battery cable and kept to unmount it;

5 - after removing the screen frame, and tried back to turn it on, it didnt powered.

Ok this is the situation where i'm stucked on. Now these considerations:

If i plug the phone to the pc, it does get recognized by my device manager under the +Disk devices, as a "Android Android USB Device" (the doubling isn't a mistake). I can't access it, it tells me to insert the disk, even if it's plugged.

If i unplug the battery pin, and plug the phone to the pc, it starts trying to plug in (windows does the typical sound) and then unplug, then again it starts trying to plug, and unplug again... a cycle.. and while it tries to connect, a green led powers on, which turns off and turn on relatively to the cycle phases.

So, what the !&&* is happening? As the screen replacement of this exact model is very very very expensive, i dont know if changing the screen would fix it or if i would just waste my money, which i dont want.

If anybody could help me would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation: Microphone replacement parts for Moto X 2nd (Moto X2)

While replacing USB connector I’ve damaged main microphone - with hot air or soldering paste got into the holes. Recorded sound is super quiet. I’ve tried to clean them up with IPA and compressed air but that didn’t help.

There’re 4 mics on this phone: 2 front facing near the bottom grill, one back facing in the top and second back facing in the bottom between 2 front facing ones. Sound is recorded properly during video recording and loud speaker phone calls but not in recorder app or normal phone calls. I assume bottom front facing ones are broken (please correct me if I’m wrong).

Those would be this golden ones in the center of that picture:

Here’s the board view and schematics:

This phone is quiet old but still very capable so I wanted to fix it and give someone who can still benefit from it. Unfortunately I’m unable to find dedicated microphones for this device anywhere. There’re bunch of “generic” Motorola microphones and similar for different devices like Moto G on Aliexpress but I don’t know which one would work.

How can I find a suitable replacement microphones?

Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation: Can't factory reset my phone

Recently I have been having very frustrating issues regarding my Moto X Play. Randomly,many features stopped working. I can pull down the notification panel but i cant pull it down again to show different option (like WiFi, Bluetooth and airplane mode), it doesn't show any incoming notification, moto display no longer works, and the lock screen, even though its enabled, it doesn't shows up. When i power it on it goes straight to my home screen, skipping all security measures. Only the triangle button works ( circle and square registers touch but does nothing).

I've tried turn it off and on again several times, I've tried a soft reboot, I've let the the battery die and then recharge it. Nothing. So I'm left with the nuclear option. I don't like it but I don't want to give up without trying everything. So I access the Fastboot screen. I follow all the steps. My phone is off, 75% battery, press simultaneously volume down and the power button. Fastboot screen appears. It says that to navigate is volume down and to select is Volume up (If I touch the power button all it does is take me out of the screen and the phone if off again). Here is my problem. I navigate, press the factory option and... the phone turns on. It didn't reset, the problem is still there. Nothing.

Suposedly, after I select factory there is this screen that should come out. The android robot lying down with a red triangle and then can select what to erase. It doesn't show up. It just turns on. Can someone help me????

Sorry for the long explanation but everyone just keeps telling me how to access the fastboot screen which by now I'm quite well acquainted with.

Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation: Cracked glass, can I replace only it?

Hi,

I had my new Moto X 2014 fall from a few centimiters, and it cracked in his lower part (it isn't afflicting more than a few pixels of screen). So here's my problem: where I live (italy) i'm having troubles finding a Motorola repairing centre, so I need to do it by miself, and here it comes the second trouble: I can't find a full replacement (at least digitalizer and glass), but only the glass, nor a guide, and I see some air bubbles under the cracks so I think it's just glued on the screen, andmy phone steels "feels" touches on both sides of the crack, but i'll be glad to have someone else giving me his opinion before spending money on an useless glass or worst ruining my phone.

Thanks to all and eventually sorry for my english.
