Motorola Moto X: Can you disable the proximity sensor, Moto X?

Is there a way do do this? I know there are factory codes you can type in on other Motorola phones that will allow you to do this.

The story behind it is that we have a phone a coworker replaced the screen on and now the prox engages immediately on every call and wont turn off. This is happening with both the old and new glass now. Checked components of the board under a scope and all looks clear. So not sure what els to do.

Motorola Moto X: Fix for headphone jack not working

For anyone who has come across an issue where plugging their headphones into their moto x and then the audio either stuttering between the headphones and the phone's speaker, or just not playing through the headphones at all. The issue is a small metal clip at the top of the inside of the jack. It gets worn away and pushed back and stops making contact with the rings on the jack. Here is how to fix that using a small piece of cardboard or other non-conductive material:

Hope this helps for anyone desperately trying to figure out how to save their trusty moto x.

Motorola Moto X: Replace display assembly or just glass?

Hello,

I recently dropped my moto x and shattered the glass. The touch digitizer and lcd seem to work still, so I think the damage is mostly cosmetic.

The guide on this site only shows how to replace the display assembly, I've found the glass itself for sale much cheaper.

My question: is it possible to replace just the glass, or do I need to swap the entire display assembly? If I can replace just the glass, does anyone have a guide to doing that?

Thanks!

Motorola Moto X4: moto x4 won't start or charge

Now that it is back home I see that it also is not taking a charge (though it was before). It does not respond to power button and volume down button held down for 2 minutes.
Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation: Why is my screen not turning on anymore?

Long story. Sorry. I got a new phone in February. I dropped my phone for the first time within three days of getting it. It dropped from less than 2 feet but it somehow shattered. Anyway, I have been using a protective case ever since, to keep the screen intact. Today, on my way to school, I sent the usual text and was met with no signal, which was strange as everybody else had one. I had to restart the phone when I found out that it still had no signal 3 hours later. After that, it started working fine. Until a few hours later. The pouch with my phone in it was very VERY high temp for no apparent reason. I took it out to find that the screen would not turn on properly. It had a large cluster of green pixels in the left corner, but that was it. It showed it entirely at random, as in pressing the power button did not initiate that event. An hour later, I came back to it, and it had cooled off, but the screen stopped doing the green pixel thing entirely, so I tried to see if I could turn it off or something. Well, it would vibrate for the " would you like to turn device off?" option, but the screen STILL never turned on. It had been at full battery when I arrived at school, but people insisted that it needed to be charged. Tried that as well, to no avail. I need help. I have no way of contacting anybody, which is an absolute MUST in my household. I am not able to pay the fee to get a replacement, as Verizon is overpriced and we are too poor. Obviously can't order a new one. If I must I could probably figure out how to activate one of my ancient phones, but I still want to see if anybody knew why this happened, and if it is fixable. I am sorry it is so long, but I felt the need for extreme detail.
