Now, even after getting it to say the phone is charging, there is no battery increase. I have tried several different box and wire combinations, but that did not work. The only time did it ever seem to charge is when the phone was slightly in use, but it then started to die again even while on the charger. The phone is dead now, and has not been able to get a charge in several hours.

I've tried to enter recovery mode by holding power+volume down while the phone is powered off, but no response. Even holding that button combo for several minutes yields no result. Volume up+power and the phone boots up as normal. I've tested all the buttons separately and they all function normally, but the phone does not enter recovery mode with power+volume down as suggested online. Any advice would be appreciated!!
