Motorola Moto G7 Power: Poor reception on G7

So, i bought this phone prior to the huge signal issues were exposed. I love the repairability and huge battery, and would like to fix it. However, i haven’t found the answer anywhere: Why is this phone so bad with the reception? Is it all models? Is it just a batch of faulty antenna modules? Where can i buy a fixed antenna module? Any russian hacks i can try?

Motorola Moto G7 Power: Why is the charging on my phone so strange?

I bought a G7 power through Verizon earlier this year and it has been great, but recently there has been an issue in which the phone does not want to charge unless the charging cable is angled in a particular way. I have to fiddle with the cable before bed every night and make sure it stays in the same position or else it stops charging.

I've tried battery calibration, swapping out cables, plugs and outlets. I also contacted Motorola support but they said I'd have to mail it in or find a repair center nearby. There were no such centers nearby and I'd rather not mail-in my phone (REALLY busy schedule coming up and I pretty much rely on my phone to stay organized)

Any workarounds or DIY options? Thanks in advance

My power button is stuck pressed down and the phone continuously turns on and off until the battery is dead. I have no personal workshop or anything, and I don’t know about taking to the phone store to get it wiped, since I haven’t fully backed everything up. Hopefully there’s a way I could possibly pull it back out without much disassembly.

Hey! So a few weeks ago my uncle’s phone screen went pitch black, when we press the power button it still vibrates and everything but nothing happens with the screen. I wanted to know if there is a way of retrieving the phone contacts as these were really important for his job. Please take into consideration that this phone does not have the developer mode activated nor the USB debugging.

Motorola Moto G7 Power: Why is the ribbon cable connector overheating?

I've replaced the daughterboard and when plugging the battery in the connector for the ribbon cable instantly gets hot. Then the battery gets hot. When I put the old daughterboard back in there is no heat.

Im planning on following this guide to replace my usb daughterboard. when im reassembling the device, do i just apply tesa tape to the outer edges of the phone, and maybe a couple strips on top of the daughterboard cover? i just dont want to place it in the wrong place and risk damaging something should i need to reopen the phone again

Motorola Moto G7 Power: Is a crinkled/wrinkled battery still safe to re-use?

Hi,

I have an old Moto G7 Power which I am currently disassembling as the screen was completely broken on it.

Waiting on the screen and back to arrive at the moment, but I’m not sure whether the battery is still safe to use.

It was stuck to the chassis of the device using 2 vertical strips of adhesive, and I had to use a flat metal tool to pry it off.

Unfortunately, the back of the battery is now very crinkled due to me pulling and prying the battery off the chassis.

Is this battery safe to re-use in the phone once I’m ready to put it all back together with the new parts?

There is 0 inflation or bulging, there is nothing under those wrinkles, just air.

I have a phone with model number XT1955-5, but it’s called Supra instead of Power. Tried a standard G7 (XT1962) screen but it doesn’t match the old one. Has anyone worked with this before? Why the double branding?

My phone screen froze up on me and wouldn't turn off. So I took it to a friend who worked on I phones to try to get the battery out to see if it would reset. Well this idiot thought the two small holes at the top and bottom were where he was supposed to shove a pin into to release the back. So he destroyed both mics. When I'm talking nobody on the other line can hear me. So I need to know if I can order replacement mics and repair it. Love the phone! Hadn't had it a month when this crap happened.

I just installed a new screen on my G7 power{purchased from ifixit). I got it all back together and it won't turn on. I didn't break anything and was very careful not to damage anything. Went back together just add it came apart

I try to open up my photos app but it closes and tells me that “photos keeps stopping" and it's been doing this for a few days now. I tried restarting my phone, clearing cache and data, and even going on to a guest user.
