Motorola Razr V3c: vintage razr will not stay powered on

I have a circa 2005 Razr V3 that quit working a long time ago. It made a crackling sound and just kinda quit. The battery won't charge in the phone - I've replace it with a new one. I have a slightly newer version as well and I use that to keep a battery charged. It works fine.

I would like to retrieve the files from the older phone. Motorola won't look at it - says it's too old to find replacement parts. I took both to a local repair shop but all they are really capable of is replacing cracked screens.

With a freshly charged battery I can get the keypad to light up anywhere from 5-20 seconds, not long enough to boot. Is there any way this can be repaired so I can retrieve the files? I've received replies in the past telling me to get them from the SD card but of course this has no removable storage. ANy help will be appreciated. Thanks

Motorola Feature Phone: Best heating method to remove screen

The screen of my Motorola One Action is broken. I read that a heat plate is the best option to meld the glue and disassemble the back part of the phone, but I don’t own one, and it’s way too expensive for a one time repair. A hair dryer seems to be an option, that can somehow be risky (overheat possible). I was asking myself if putting the phone in a kitchen oven at a temperature of 70 °C for 10-15 min could be a viable option ?

Motorola RAZR v3: This is a more general question

This is a kind of general question. I notice that many new flip phones - for example the Alcatel Go Flip 3 - use pretty much the same keypad layout as the old Motorola RAZR v3. I’m wondering anyone knows if that means they are likely using the same keypad connectors and/or interface for the keypad? I’m wondering if it might be possible to build a Frankenphone with new guts, but in a Razr case?

Motorola RAZR v3: RAZR v3 wont charge

Hi, I just bought a new battery for my mom’s old RAZR V3 to solve the problem of the phone displaying a message saying “unable to charge”. it will turn on and work perfectly, but the moment I unplug it, it dies. It does not display a battery charging icon either. It originally had a BR56 battery in it and had this problem, so I assumed that a new battery would fix it. So I replaced it with a BR50 and it is still behaving the same. I am going to try finding an original charger, but my mother most likely threw it out. Thank y’all for any help.

Motorola RAZR v3: Keyboard interface for feature phones

This is a question of curiosity more than a repair question. I note that many modern feature phones have the same basic keypad layout as the Motorola Razr with the navigation in the top middle and two ‘choice’ buttons on the left and the right. This would imply to me that the ‘keypad controller’, for lack of a better term, might be common among all these phones. Does anyone know if this is true?

Motorola Razr V3c: How can I replace the little magnet on the flip housing

I realized that my phone has not been able to respond when I close it - the front screen no longer changes to clock screen.
