Hi all, a couple weeks ago my fiance washed my pants with my phone in the pocket. We realized the error an hour before I had to leave on a business trip. So I put the phone in a zip lock bag with a gun safe dehumidifier for a few days. Unfortunately, it seems the phone is done. Doesn't do anything when I plug it in, doesn't respond when I hold the power button. Since I get no reaction at all from the phone I was hoping the problem was a dead battery, so I bought a new battery and replaced it. Unfortunately still nothing. I don't see any corrosion on contact points but I did try brushing them off with alcohol anyways. Still no luck. So at this point I figure some vital part must be completely shot.

Evidently I'm pretty stupid because I did not have the Verizon cloud taking backups. Also, I didn't have the sync turned on for my gmail account. So my question is, does anyone have any ideas how I could get my data (contacts etc) off the dead phone? I was thinking of trying to get a used one off ebay and swapping out some parts or something. I assume the data is all saved somewhere on the motherboard?

I'm trying to take the back cover of the phone off but it seems to be stuck. I feel like if I force it, its going to break. Is the cover not suppose to come off?!

Motorola Droid Turbo: Why Won't it come on after repair?

Three weeks ago, my phone randomly stopped working. It was minding it's on business sitting in a corner and all of a sudden the screen stayed black. I could hear the notifications but it wouldn't turn on(the screen). Then I charged it and when I would try to power it on, it made the power up sound and vibration but didn't light up. No lights would light up. I was told it was my LCD so I ordered a new part, replaced it and made sure the ribbon cable was secured and I still got the same result. Now if I try to turn it on, the power up sound keeps replaying every 10 seconds til it dies, or i disconnect the battery, still without and sign of life in the new screen/LCD or even notification lights. What could be the problem?

NOTE: It was in some heat that day, but it's always hot here. The screen had a crack and some small glass chips that had fallen out from the top left corner from a previous drop months ago, but other than that it was perfectly fine.

Motorola Droid Turbo: Problems with charging phone, etc

Hi. I am having problems with my Droid Turbo phone. Never got wet, etc., so is not from that or anything I can pinpoint. First, the charge port became loose and somewhat wobbled when charger plugged in. That then progressively got worse. Also, battery seemed to go down VERY quick. So had charge port changed and new battery insertrede (both done thru repair shop). New charge port stayed wobbly and got even worse. Would plug in to charge and had to fiddle around for placement of charge cord till could get the charge to register. Also noticed that when plugged to computers or tablets, they would not recognize that phone was pluged in. Would even return a usb error. Even when could set charge cord to where phone was recognizing it, it would charge very, verym, VERY slowly if at all even if showing charge active. And yes, tried original charger with plus many others, both base and cords with same result till now cannot get phone to ever recognize thaphonet charger is plugged in. Had shop replace motherboard, too, but since has stayed without charge recognition so is now dead as can get no charge on at all. Please help with ideas!! Can't even transfer data if cannot get battery to charge. Thanks.

Motorola Droid Turbo: Screen does not come on, need to recover data

I am trying to recover data from a Droid Turbo that has a damage screen. the led comes on when I plug it up, but the screen does not come on. I am not interested in saving the phone, but I do need to save the data because the videos didn’t make it to the cloud back up. Does someone have steps on how to access it from a Windows or Ubuntu computer?

Motorola Droid Turbo: My phone took a swim in a chlorinated pool. Help!

Phone was in my pocket when I had to jump in after my toddler. Baby girl is fine, she had already turned over with her head back out of the water, but my phone . . . not so much. I'm devastated because I had sooooo many pictures and videos on it. What can I do?

I threw my phone over to a friend who immediately dried it off, but she also tried to turn it back on before I could stop her. It stayed on, updating apps for about 15 mins before it went off. We put it in a bowl of rice overnight, and next day my hubby took the back off and used a hairdryer (on cool) to try to dry it out. I don't know what to do to try to get the pics/videos back!!!

Motorola Droid Turbo: What antenna is this? I can't seem to find info online.

OK, major amateur move on my part, but during battery replacement on my Droid Turbo, I popped one of the antenna spring contacts off the main board. I've attached pictures showing the antenna on the midframe, and the location of the actual spring tab on the main board.

The tab has gone to the abyss somewhere, so I attempted to create a new one with some springy copper from a scavenged grounding tab, but I could not get it to solder to the 6 tiny little dots that were left on the circuit board. I chocked it up as a loss, reassembled, and tested, but everything seems to function fine? Only thing I can't test is Bluetooth, but with the setup of the antenna, I'm thinking it is the WiFi antenna, but even that seems to be functioning normally.

Anybody have a clue which antenna I longer have?

Motorola Droid Turbo: I replace the battery, now GPS doesn't work. Ideas?

I replace the battery following the instructions on this site. Now my GPS does not work. I have opened it up again and checked for any obvious signs of damage or loose connections. No luck. Everything else works great.

Does anyone know where the gps or the gps antenna is located?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to help my sister out with her busted phone. She dropped it in ocean water and picked it up right away. It was left to dry in rice but it will not turn on or charge. The battery seems to be totally dead at this point, too. It also does not do anything when connecting it to a computer. I did some cleaning to the inside to get rid of residue and yet it has not improved any.

All my sister wants is to get the photos saved on the phone off and onto a computer. Is there any way that this can still be done?

Motorola Droid Turbo: Can I replace the loudspeaker?

My loudspeaker recently stopped working. Based on the headphone jack guide and the part listed on Global Parts Direct, it looks like it's on the lefthand side of the midframe. I can't quite tell how it's attached from the pictures though.

Just wondering if anyone has any insight into this repair before I start buying components and tinkering blindly.

Need to swap batteries, mine isn't holding a charge as long (about 12 or so, instead of the 24 hours like it used to).
