Motorola Droid 4: My Droid 4 isn't turning on?

About two days ago I was kind of curious and trying to check how the battery on my Droid 4 was working and I lifted the left edge a little (but did NOT remove the whole battery), while it was still on (I know, pretty stupid of me) and now it isn't turning on. I've tried to charge it multiple times with different chargers and wall outlets but all that occurs when I do so, is momentarily flash the green LED light (the whole phone remains blank) and then it goes off (the green LED light). Do you think I might have damaged the battery or the ribbons?

And also, would it be easy to replace the battery on my own if I were to use the Droid 4 teardown guide and the tools needed? I'd like to replace it on my own because I wouldn't want to send it off or wait a week or so to get my phone back and spend more money having it done.

Please help :(

Motorola Droid 4: Battery Is Charged, But phone will not turn on

Hello,

I have a Motorola Droid 4. The goal is just to get the phone on long enough to be able to back up the data on the device.

Like text messages, contacts, and facebook stuff and others.

I went to order a replacement battery, that was charged to full 100%.

The phone will not still turn on.

Tried to connect the phone with a fast charger, and original charger and will not turn on, and even connecting the USB from pc to phone. The pc will not force it on.

What can I do to just get the phone on for about half battery life or whatever we can get. I know battery I have is good. Just long enough to get phone on and back up data to the verizon cloud and transfer files to computer.

Please, Please, Please, help! Would be a life saver for some one to. Since the person did not do a back up originally. Of course this person using it is not tech savvy, hence why I am trying to be hero.

Also taken it into a verizon wireless, authorize dealer as well, and third party.

No one so far could do anything.

Thanks, karl

Motorola Droid 4: My Droid4 display and backlight died, can it be repaired?

At first I noticed the backlight sometimes flickered. Then a few times when I slid out the keyboard it didn't come on, but it would eventually turn on if I tried a few times. Things got progressively worse, the backlight wouldn't turn on at all in portrait mode with the keyboard stowed. I eventually found that if I slid the keyboard out about .5cm the light would come on at 50% of normal brightness.

Things continued to get worse over time...

Now the entire display is dead. I can watch the phone boot up with adb logcat and it says it's unable to open the framebuffer. So while it used to boot up and in a darkened room you could see a glimmer of the display, now the screen is totally dead (but the backlight can still be triggered, some of the time). It's also unable to open the camera device. So something has seems to have progressively rotted inside this phone. Is the motherboard toast? Or can the display and camera components be replaced/reseated to bring them back to life?

Motorola Droid 4 Teardown

There is a small thin white wire that comes out of the hole on the motherboard I'm guessing what is located by the charging ports and where you screw in the battery I need to know where that wire goes and where I'm from what it is used for .....thank you

Motorola Droid 4: Why is my home screen black?

Only the home screen is black with no icons showing or functioning. Everything else works normally and any app works that I can get to, for instance from the notification bar or the unlock screen.

I've tried powering down and up, changing the battery and doing a force reboot (holding power and volume-down buttons for more than 10 seconds) to no avail.

Motorola Droid 4: Battery will not charge even after replacing

I read this guide in January 2015 and ordered a battery. Easy to replace, BUT, the battery would not charge. Ordered a second battery, same, battery would not charge giving a question mark in the battery icon. My Droid 4 became a brick I have spent the past 2 months trying to get it to work again. Ordered a Factory Motorola USB cable with a pin shorted. When plugged into my PC the phone boots and I can use it, BUT, the battery WILL NOT CHARGE. I can find nothing on the internet to solve this problem. I cannot carry my laptop around so that I can use my phone. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
