Moto G4: My phone keeps touching things by itself and I'm not even touching it.

This has been happening a lot lately and it is getting really frustrating. I haven't changed my screen or anything and I've had my Moto G4 for about a year now. I haven't dropped it from high up or anything and the phone is in great condition. Somehow, most of the time I pick up my phone to use it, the phone will start touching and opening random apps or start typing things when I'm trying to send a text. Can someone please help. I'll appreciate it.

Moto G4: Soldering Temperature for Charge Port Replacement

Anyone know the temperature I should use for soldering the charge port on the motherboard? I purchased a soldering iron and it has a temperature control. I do not want it to be to hot as it will damage other parts and the board itself, then if it is to cold the solder connection will not hold.

The temp dial goes from 200-450 °C

Thanks

my Moto G4 is fine, but after 5 years it could use a new battery. they’ve been out of stock at iFixit for many months, and the ones listed on other sites are off-brand batteries (not genuine OEM). does anyone know where to find the genuine article?

Moto G4: Battery not holding charge long

Yes, this phone is a few years old. But still works okay! Battery was not holding charge - so with much effort (someone at the factory tweeked out half the screws and they couldn’t be removed) I replaced the battery with a new one from iFixit. Battery performs by not like the original. New battery barely holds a charge for a day. Could get 2 days out of the original. Suggestions on how to get more time on a charge?

Moto G4: Should I attempt to replace the battery on my phone

My phone has an odd issue where it force shuts down (black screen, no shutdown screen) when the battery drops below about 70% and the phones resources are being used. ie: cpu or ram, not sure. Once this happens it when i try to turn it on it will boot to lock screen but when signing in crashes again (probably because starting processes i imagine) unless it is charging. I have tried using a different OS (custom rom) with no success and I am now wondering if i should invest in trying to replace the battery?

Hi,

1 month ago, I did mistake about IPA-watering inside phone screen(In this time, this phone touch was still working). so I disassembled, dried, and tried again. But this problem started since that. touch screen was not working. even ghost touch! I ordered new screen parts, assembled, and hard reset, tried it again. But still not working. I think that screen parts have no problem, Instead of, all of problem is in mainboard. But, the phone can turn on. What’s that? What should I do?

Moto G4: Why is my new Moto G4 battery not charging.

I bought a new battery for my Moto G4 from ifixit because my Moto G4 wouldn’t charge or stay powered on. I installed the battery yesterday. Phone powered on and seemed to work okay. As per the instructions, I let the battery charge fall below 10% before plugging it up to charge it. I’ve been charging it for almost 20 hours and have tried different chargers that work with other devices. It will not charge above 15% and the phone will not stay powered on. Any advice or answers to my problem would be greatly appreciated.

Moto G4: Touch screen acting squirrelly need help w/ Data back up process

My Motorola G4 suddenly has a squirrelly acting touch screen like while playing games ex. (My Billiards game) when I'm aiming or getting ready to take a shot while holding my finger against the screen & dragging down to choose my preferred strength of shot it'll just release it prematurely causing me to lose. I've heard a hard reset will possibly correct this but I'm quite technically disabled lol & Im wondering how exactly I, “back up my data" as well as “disable device protection” as the instructions on a hard reset mention that you do 1st. Cuz I have a ton of important pictures & videos that I'd die if I lost so I'm just looking for any info on how to do all these things, w/ the greatest amount of details listed as possible lol for the technical laymen like myself lol… any info would be greatly appreciated.

Moto G4: Water damage, screen black

It was raining today and my phone got some raindrops on it as well as a little wet from being in my pocket while outside. I didn’t even consider the phone could be water damaged just from this but when I got home and plugged in my phone to charge, the screen flickered a few times, then the screen went static and finally all black. Did I completely ruin my phone by running electricity thorugh it while wet? It still vibrated in response to me holding the power button but nothing will appear on the screen. It seems like a lost cause at this point, but is there anything I could do?
