How can you tell if it's working? I know that the sound works because it makes the beep sound when you test the alarm but there is nothing coming through... should I just throw it away? It was my dad's so idk what its supposed to sound like and how it works...I hate to throw it out since he just passed away I was hoping it would be something simple... would appreciate some help...if I don't hear back in a few days I'll just throw it away... today is September 15 2023 at 9:07am...

Thanks,
