Microsoft Surface Studio: Screen swap for Surface Studio

I have an original Surface Studio. I can buy a screen damaged Surface Studio 2+ for a couple of hundred dollars. I would like to swap the damaged screen with the functioning screen from the original Surface Studio but do not know if the connectors are the same. I like the 2+ because of the added Thunderbolt 4 ports. Is this possible?

Microsoft Surface Studio Gen 1: Screen intermittently fails on left side

The screen on my Microsoft Surface Studio sometimes works perfectly fine, but other times it will fail on the left side, which makes it unasable. It changes what happens each time, it might start with a vertical rainbow strip and then left of that the screen might go black, or pale, and fail to work on that side. I tried projecting the screen onto another windows 10 computer today and it worked fine on the other computer whilst I was looking at a half dead screen on the Surface Studio. Sometimes it will suddenly disappear and work normally again. Any suggestions on what is going on would be appreciated. I have tried a full reset of the computer which didn't fix the problem.

Microsoft Surface Studio: Why is the screen of my Microsoft Surface Studio not working anymore?

The screen of my Microsoft Surface Studio (1st generation) suddenly has turned black and does not work anymore. The computer itself works, because if I connect a monitor to the mini-display port, I can see Windows and the system is functioning fine. This way, I discovered that the internal screen is not recognized by the Nvidia card. However, I can still authenticate with Windows Hello, use touch to move the mouse, use the camera, play sounds and see that the backlight is working. The only problem is that the screen stays black. I have tried to forcefully shut down the computer several times (by pressing the power button for 10 seconds), start in BIOS mode (by pressing volume up and powering on), tilting the computer, changing the position of the screen, etc. - nothing works. Clearly, something is broken - but what?. Is there anybody who can give me some ideas what might be wrong and where to start looking? The warranty has already expired.

Microsoft Surface Studio Gen 1: Additional Detail on Connector Handling?

First, thanks for the website. Without this i would not have considered cracking open the old Studio. I've replaced both of the SSDs, and will also replace the fans, one of which was locking up, even after blowing 8 years of dust out of it.

I'm having a very hard time with the tiny little fan connectors. Don't want to rip the cables, even though I have new fans to put in.

How exactly does one release the connector? What does one press on, or push, or prod? I've got my trusty spludger here, but have tried pushing on the ends, the sides, and tried jiggling the connectors, but nothing seems to come out. I half-expected to press the "right thing", and hear a satisfying click -- nothing.

Also, the audio connector came out from the board instead of the inline connector, which I also couldn't figure out how to release.

Anyway, enough whining... I hope someone sees this and takes pity. Also, though I don't wish any ill will, I hope the answer helps someone else out.

Microsoft Surface Studio Gen 1: How can I repair the pen/touch interface?

Everything is working fine on my original Surface Studio except for the touch/pen interface. It started failing at the bottom of the screen and worked its way up. Now touch doesn't work anywhere on the screen.

I'd like to check for loose connections first, or signs of failed components. Any idea where the relevant modules are located inside? I already completed a fan replacement with the iFixIt guide but didn't notice any loose connectors or obviously damaged components at that time.

Microsoft Surface Studio: Really loud fan/device getting very hot

Can someone advise as to the best thing to do for my Surface Studio that is getting hot? The fans make noise so leads me to believe they are not working at their best. I did use a can of air to try and blow out the dust, but after watching the tear down video, realize that the air didn't touch the fans as the cover would have to be removed first. My machine is 3 years old. I certainly don't feel it should be breaking down already! Do the noisy fans imply that they are likely to stop working soon?Thank you!

due to a crash from the table (don't ask... unlucky combination of kids and cats) my front glas is broken and I'm wondering where to get a spare one. Any ideas?

On the new top-of- the-line Microsoft Surface Studio, with a 128gb SSD/2tb hybrid drive, can it be user-upgraded to a full 1tb/2tb SSD drive?

I read The read/write speeds of the Studio's hybrid drive were around 200-300mbps and the Surface Book laptop was 1.6+gbps, which makes the laptop hard drive 5 times faster than the new Studio.

Microsoft Surface Studio: Part numbers for the Surface Studio fans

I have a noisy fan in my old Surface Studio “1”. I am concerned that the noisy fan will turn into a slow fan, and then a broken fan, and then my system will overheat constantly, making the user experience sub-par.

Somebody said “the fans are really easy to replace”, and even posted a price, but nobody has described just what the fans are and where to obtain them.

I have Microsoft Surface Studio 28 inch desktop computer. I accidentally dropped it and shattered a screen digitizer. The computer still works and there is no damage to the lcd screen itself. Microsoft Surface Studio: Surface Studio died on it's own

I have a customer that dropped off a studio because it had died. She used it the night before and went to use it the next day and noticed it would not turn back on. She followed the usual “unplug it for 30 minutes” but that didn’t fix it. It did come back on for a brief moment with a nasty clicking sound. I’ve got it taken apart but there’s no signs of a short circuit on the board nor any burnt electronics odor you’d associate with such a sound. I did also take out the secondary HDD and hooked it up to my computer but it sounds normal to try to rule that out. Is this most likely a fried power supply or something else?

I have a surface studio 1st and the surface dial, but the on-screen menu does not appear when I place it on the screen, I also put it in studio mode .. And my 2nd question, my screen does not recognize the touch in all its surroundings, but in the central part even with the 10 fingers.
