Hi,

My son has a Surface Pro 8 with a genuine Microsoft cover keyboard. The keyboard has stopped working, on investigation I have confirmed it is the ribbon cable that goes around the hinge and connects to the edge of the tablet.

I understand that this is a common problem so Microsoft are pushing poor quality products on our schools.

Cut to the chase has anyone successfully repaired or replaced the cable?

I suspect I need to completely remove the fabric outer to find the clips but it would be useful if the ribbon cable could be push in.

its very poor after Frequent use for last two years.
please advise regarding buying and replacing my surface battery with a new one.

I found an article about PRO 7 but don't know if it applies to PRO 8. The article also only gives the cost of the components.
