I accidentally dropped something and my trackpad popped out at the bottom. Hard clicks are now not registered. I tried to pop it back in but it won’t stick. What do I do? My nearest Microsoft store is really far away.

Microsoft Surface Laptop: Is there any way to get the data off the ssd when it won't boot?

My Surface laptop only flashes the Windows logo when it tries to boot. An external boot drive does not work so I assume it’s a hardware issue. Is there any way to get the data off the soldered ssd? I don’t care that the rest of the laptop will be destroyed in the process. We would just like to get the data.

Hi guys,

Before anyone says "use it as a door stop or a coaster" hear me out, i was given this for free and want to give it to my daughter to use for school, the issue i have here is the person who gave it to me decided in "recovery section" to go into Dos and do a diskpart (Clean) on the drive and now the surface turns on for 2 seconds flashes the surface logo then turns off and repeats over and over

Does anyone know of any fix for this at all?? would be greatly appreciated

Microsoft Surface Laptop 2: Stuck in automatic repair loop

I have a Surface 2 (model 1572 according to the box) that came in as a donation. It is stuck in an automatic repair loop. It turns on, preparing automatic repair, shuts down, and continues the loop.

I've tried holding the Vol+ and power, but will absolutely not respond with the Vol+ depressed.

I'm at a loss what to do. Please help...

When upgrading the SSD on the surface there's a good chance that you might destroy the rubber feet. Thought it would be good to have them accessible. Couldn't find them on Amazon, or eBay.

Microsoft Surface Laptop: No display after boot, disabling Intel driver fixes.

I've had a weird problem that I've now solved so want to share the solution.

Surface laptop was starting but had what appeared to be driver problems. The keyboard and touchscreen were unavailable during boot and windows install.

Post install I was able to get the keyboard working by installing drivers.

Touchscreen was still disabled.

Upon installing the Intel display driver the display would go black and I was unable to operate. Had to enter safe mode and disable Intel driver.

I figured it must be a screen issue so replaced screen. Same symptoms so thought motherboard. No, replaced that and still same issue.

I have now determined it is the connection near the audio jack that was causing these issues.

we're using a Surface 3 Laptop. Someone damaged the USB Connector, so the Surface wont charge while in Docking Station. Is there any chance to get the USB Slot working again or should i just put it in the Trash ?

Is the base identical between the all metal and alcantara models? I would love to get the Cobalt Blue model, and then replace the alcantara palm rest with the matte black metal palm rest (seeing as it’s so easy to remove/replace). Would this be possible?

The wifi stopped working and I tried reinstalling the drivers, but that didn't cure the problem.

Therefore, I am now using an external wifi.
I want to replace my wifi card.

I have watched various repair videos and while I can find the SSD, I cannot find the wifi card.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 (13.5-inch): MS Laptop 5 doesn't Power up

Bought a Surface Laptop 5 13.5 last year in Sandstone colour, and was in a backpack with a water bottle (you can guess what happened ;(

MS Canada just returned it...no explanation, no suggestions, just returned it when I sent it in for service under warranty.

Doesn't boot, tried Power button and F4 for 20 seconds, tried to let the battery drain, still nothing...been a year and the poor device is still sitting here collecting dust, tempting me to try and fix one last time. It charges no problem, the Windows logo flashes a few times, but can never get past the Win logo.

is it salvageable or just good for parts?

Anyone in the Fraser Valley / Vancouver area fix these ?

Microsoft Surface Laptop 2: New battery fitted .. charges and visible but won't operate on battery

Microsoft surface 2 Laptop battery replaced successfully. It is recognised and charges to 100% but as soon as I disconnect the power supply it shuts down. Have tried software fixes but I belive it is hardware.
