Microsoft Surface Book with Performance Base: Battery replacement Compatiblity for MS Surface w/performance base

Looking to purchase battery for my Surface. The info I have calls it “Surface Book - 512GB i7 with Performance Base” It is a 15” version of the Surface. It was probably purchased 2017 or 2018. I don’t see anything matching the Model number 1705 reflected on the part that came up. Also, I’m replacing this battery because it is swelling and causing the case to open. Does this part come with replacement instructions or links to a video? Thanks!

Microsoft Surface Book with Performance Base: IPA for breaking the Adhesives?

Greetings!

I have two Microsoft Surface Books, a 1st Gen 13.5" one with Performance Base and a 2nd Gen 15" with Nvidia GPU both of which are in DIRE™️ ( and I mean it ) need of a having all of their Battery Packs replaced.

I've watched a bunch of Videos how to get into both the Tablet and Keyboard portion of the devices using heat ( iOpener, Fan, Heat Gun, etc... ) to soften up the Adhesive Strips running all along the Perimeters of the LCD and the Bottom Lid - For this reason I ordered myself an iOpener and a Clampy.

Now... I've ALSO seen one Video from what looked like a Repair Shop using a Liquid being dispensed into the Gap which I ASSUME to have been IPA... Any thoughts on the use of IPA concerning the LCD Panel and / or while still connected to one of the Batteries? Any thoughts on using IPA IN COMBINATION with the usual Heat Method?

I'd also be needing new adhesive Strips to reassemble everything back together and while there's plenty of sources to be found for the Tablet portion of the Books there doesn't appear to any for the Keyboard one? Any suggestions on where to source those or what to use instead?

Thanks in advance! =)

Microsoft Surface Book with Performance Base: Need help Identifying surface book model (unable to turn on)

I have a client's Surface Book (he says its a SB2) in my possession. I am replacing the screen.

SN I used on bottom of tablet is 008835472357
SN on bottom of keyboard is 027363772854

On the hinge where the keyboard is located, it says Model: 1785

When I run the SN for the tablet, it comes back as:
Surface Book - 512GB i7 16GB with Performance Base

The screen that came off the system is listed as PN:
X905082-016

I ordered another screen, and it's part number is:
X905082-012

I cannot find any information on the difference in the screens (if any), and I can't confirm it's a Surface Book 2. The iFixit screen they have for the Surface Book 1 and 2 for the 13.5" model is (at least in pictures) X905082-011, and all the Surface Book 2 models are 18XX, and the Surface Book models are all 17XX (including the 1785)

Can anyone assist here?

Microsoft Surface Book with Performance Base: Touchpad not working after performance base batter replacement

Hi,

The battery in my performance died so I bought a new one.
During the swap, i think I broke the touchpad (the mounting tab broke.)
I was able to get a replacement performance base and installed the new batter in that.

The battery works but the touchpad doesn't

The ribbon cable is fully seated.

Windows and the UEFI software don't see it.

What else should be checked?

Thanks,
