Microsoft Surface 2: Touchscreen not functioning is this a hardware or software issue?

I purchased a Microsoft surface 2 used and touchscreen is non functional. I have looked all over and really can’t find a good response for this. The device is up to date and I have reloaded the OS/ drained the battery/ adjusted the device manager etc. Before I buy a new screen and digitizer has anyone ever really found a fix for this? Microsoft was no help.

Microsoft Surface 2: Surface 2: Home button not springing back in position.

As the title states, the home button on my surface 2 is jammed and won't spring back.

I performed a battery replacement which required me to remove the motherboard, and after replacing everything back in its original spot the home button refuses to be springy.

Taking a closer look at it, it only has a plastic piece between the button and the switch. I see no sort of spring mechanism, and I don't have any spare pieces laying around.

Am I missing something? How do I fix this?

Microsoft Surface 2: Backlight working but no picture, after a screen replacement

Having recently replaced the touchscreen on my Surface Pro 2, and initially getting nothing on-screen, despite numerous force reboot, I managed to get it hooked up to an external monitor in order to diagnose. The first to note at this point is that the backlight and digitizer are both working.

As far as the device is concerned, it doesn't think there is a problem with the screen - it detects it in Displays, adjusting the brightness results in changes in backlight brightness. Disabling and re-enabling the screen in Device Manager doesn't have any effect, other than to turn the backlight off and on again. Also running the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit doesn't reveal any underlying problems that weren't already apparent.

So this leaves the replacement panel itself, the ribbon connecters and the sureness of the installation. All the ribbon cables look undamaged and the connections have been reseated several times to ensure that they are good, however before I embark on what I know will be a lengthy exchange process, I want to make sure that I can only be a fault in the new screen.

Have I missed anything? Is there anything else I can check?

Microsoft Surface 2: How to reinstall my digitizer board

Hey guys, I'm new to here.. Recently I purchased my very own ifix kit in hopes to repair my surface 2 screen by myself. I was successful in some ways. when I got the old screen off of my Surface 2 I accidently separated the digitizer board away from the surface so it was on the old screen. It didn't seem as if it was connected to any thing on the surface itself only the digitizer and its' cables. So when I put the digitizer flex cables in their spot and the lcd flex cable in its' spot turned on the power and wahla I have the LCD screen functioning properly! I did it! well... Everything works except my touch screen function. Guys I would really appreciate some help in the fact that I love to learn and any advice or places that you guys could point me to that would be great...

Microsoft Surface 2: Touchscreen not working after LCD and digitizer replacement

After replacing the LCD and glass the touchscreen does not respond at all even though the LCD works perfectly. I have double checked all the cables and they are firmly seated but I have not added any glue between the LCD and glass. Is the glue necessary for touch to function, did I just get a bad part, or is there another problem?

Microsoft Surface 2: My surface isn't charging when plugged in

My surface doesn't charged when plugged in the charging cable, but I'm not sure what the problem is. It could be my surface as the cable is plugged in correctly, but it could also be the charging cable itself as sometimes when it's plugged in the light at the top of the cable flickers and turns off.

Either way my surface hasn't charged for a while - it's now shut down because of lack of battery power and I don't have another charger.

Any ideas on how to help? Thanks in advance :)
