Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin Air: need help disassembling my Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Wireless

Hi everyone,

I need help disassembling my Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Wireless (the newer model without iPod dock, manufactured around 2015-2016).

The power socket is loose/broken and I need to access the internals to repair or replace it.

So far I have located two plastic covers on the bottom oval plate, removed them, and unscrewed the two screws underneath — but the base plate still won’t move.

I cannot find any teardown guide or video specific to this model online. The iFixit guide available is for the older Zeppelin with the iPod dock, which is a different design.

Could anyone help with:

1. How to properly open this unit without breaking the plastic clips?

2. Is there a hidden step I’m missing after removing the two screws?

3. Any video or guide specific to this newer Zeppelin Wireless model?

I have attached a photo of the bottom of the unit.

Thank you!

Tivoli iPAL: Speaker replacement for iPAL

Hi!

I have an old (from about 2000) iPAL which I love very much :-) Now it seems that the speaker is not doing well anymore. By either listening from the radio or the AUX input the sound is very distorted. I tried with headphones and it's fine.

I have already opened it and the speaker is a 3 W 4 Ohm, it seems to be 2.5inch diameter. And it has a relatively small (in diameter) magnet so that it can fit in the small space with the electronic board.

I don't want to take the risk buying a speaker that will physically not fit. Does anybody knows if I can find a replacement that will fit well?

Thanks in advance!

Carlo

Roku RC-MC1 remote: Headphone jack not detecting when a device is plugged in.

Bought the thing specifically for the headphone jack and like 2-3 weeks in it stops working. Tried several different pairs of headphones and no dice. I’m assuming they put a relatively cheap jack in there but still annoying. I assume I’ll have to tear it apart and re-solder a joint somewhere but figured I’d ask the experts here first. Any help is appreciated!
