Mattress: making the foam mattress pad fit the queen size mattress

I currently have a regular queen sized mattress but its firm but it was new and free. it is also uncomfortable, so I purchased one of those foam mattress toppers to put on top of the mattress. Now I sleep better but the problem is even though the topper is supposed to be queen sized ...it slips and slides and doesn't meet all four corners of my existing mattress. Which mean every morning I must pull or tug it back to the other side. How or what can I do to prevent this from happening?
