Marshall Kilburn: Fuse blows immediately but the speaker works from battery

Hello! I have a problem similar to a couple of other topics where fuse blows immediately. However, my speaker works fine from battery if it's recharged externally. Also, there is nothing is obviously burned or damaged on the board. Any suggestions how to diagnose the problem? Thank you!

Thank you, @jayeff ! I’ve found schematic of Marshall Stanmore on this link and attach the images

would you be able to suggest which element of the scheme may cause short cicuit please? I’m no expert in electronics but would assume that if something is burned/broken it should stop the flow of electric current rather than accelerate it?

Marshall Kilburn: Volume is too Low - Used to be much better

I own a Marshall Kilburn unit and I used to love it. Well, unfortunately the volume output for the unit is too low now. I have no idea what happened, it does not matter if I use it with bluetooth or line in, it is all low. I also tried with and without the battery, same thing. Well, I hope I can get it to work somehow. Any ideas?

Marshall Kilburn: Main fuse blows immediately, device is not recharging (or running).

I have a Marshall Kilburn I amp that stopped charging the battery. Once it was completely discharged, it stopped working at all. I decided to take a look on the PCB.

The fuse on the main power supply unit was broken, once replaced, it blew up again.

On the backside of the pcb I found a second blown up part, that was named LL10 (see picture). The rest of the pcb looks fine, also the capacitors and the surge arrester

look like they are in a good condition. I measured them all and found no serious deviations.

Marshall Kilburn: Marshall speaker emits hissing noise on both line and bluetooth input.

Hey, I have a Marshall Kilburn from 2018 ish that started to emit this horrible hissing noise a few days ago. Everything works as it should (Treble, bass adjust, volume, aux and bt input…) except for this noise that appeared. I've tried the speakers themselves with another amp and they work just fine. Also, when I'm playing music through bluetooth and the speakers disconnected it sounds like music's coming out of the bluetooth module? I'll add an attachment. I'm wondering if i can find some help with this on the forum? What is the hissing noise?

Marshall Kilburn: Marshal Kilburn 2 - battery change problem

I got used Marshall Kilburn 2 ,after few months decided to change badbattery.

Bought replacment "stronger" battery

Unscrewed ,took out old one,put back new...doesn't work,put back old one,doesn't work.Doesnt't charge,nothing,no electricity.

Looked around and noticed that one cable, don't know how to describe,on the top is thin as a piece of paper unplugged from some likeconbector.

It's made like that when you lifting up back panel it's easy to unplugged it.

I somehow sticked it back,closed - power on ,charging.Nice.

After half an hour tried to turn on speaker - nothing, small red light bulb next to power on/wolume button not reacting also.Other side showed charging.

Then I decided to that "cable" stick just other "face" of that thin end in as socket.

Did it - nothing, returned back - now is not showing charging, nothing.

Dead.

I don't see any fuse etc. inside.

Maybe now that socket is little bit wifened or that thin top of that cable is damaged, since i puit in and out few times.

Anyway I see that speaker before someonewas repairing something inside, cant be like that from factory.

Kilburn 1st gen. I have back home at my country and it's simple to change battery.

This one they made more rouchy.

Anyone had simmilar problem with it?

Now I'll send it back home to my brother to fix it ,he is better with that or to take it to electronic repairs shop and to use it

Now I have to spend 200 pounds on new one and thinking to take the same or Acton without battery because it's gonna sooner or later needs it battery change.

Marshall Kilburn: Speaker will not stay on or charge.

My Kilburn (gen 1) Speaker when turned on would illuminate the Red Battery/Bluetooth LED for 2-3 seconds before fading and turning off. Int hat time it is audible that the speaker turned on and off.

I ordered a replacement battery thinking that the original battery was no good. The new battery caused the same issue. This led me to believe there are other problem. I looked further more by opening up the board and seeing the attacked images of what appears to be a damaged C111, and U15.

I do not know what C111’s value is nor can i measure it without another device.

U15 is CN3704, a PWM switch-mode lithium ion battery charger controller for 4 cell li-ion battery in a small package . I was able to find this out thanks to another post (Kilburn no sound from speaker ) images and zooming in. But not sure what the number beneath it is and am worried to buy the wrong part.

What is U15 and C111?

Marshall Kilburn: Kilburn Rubber Feet & Gold Logo Replacement Part

Is there a link where I can buy replacement rubber feet for my Kilburn?

One of the rubber feet fell off during a trip and we couldn't find it there and it seems the only solution was to buy a replacement for it.

Also, the logo of my Kilburn has lost its gold color and is there a replacement for it too?
