Magic Mouse: Why Magic Mouse curser does not move?

When i switch on my magic mouse, it stated connected in my mac but the curser is not moving. Button and scroll work well. It seems like the mouse laser is not functioning. Need help.

Hi! I have this Magic Mouse Gen 1, and it has a problem that’s related to Gesture Control.

It sometimes responds to what I did, scrolling, tapping, but usually it’s almost nothing to smoothly control.

I’ve just been expecting this is hardware problem, so what do you think to fix this problem?

Guys, I have the first version of the Magic Mouse, when I connect via Bluetooth the connection works, but the mouse doesn't move, nor do the buttons work. When connecting another magic mouse, it works normally, I also tried it with 2 different Macs. Is there any maintenance possible? Does the mouse firmware version matter?

Magic Mouse: How do I reattach the capacitor board to get touch capability?

My magic mouse came apart after dropping it. I put it back together and I am able to point and click with it, but I lost the "magic" touch capability for scrolling, etc. I think it's because the orange tab that is part of the capacitive touch sensors isn't connected to the circuit board in the mouse. Can someone tell me how to re-attach it properly? It would be MUCH appreciated... :)

I disassembled the mouse to fix the bent aluminum from dropping it and it works, but sticking the bottom part to the plastic battery tray is hard. What is strong enough to hold the plastic and alunium together?

Magic Mouse: Magic Mouse suddenly stopped moving smoothly

Hi all,

I was using my Magic Mouse from years and, from one day to another, it stopped moving smoothly. The mouse pointer is jiggling in such a way that it's unusable. (Clicking and swiping work well). The batteries are not low and even replacing them with fresh ones didn't change this strange behavior. The optical lens seems to be clean and nothing particular happened to my mouse to give it a reason for this. The most weird thing is that it worked flawlessly since yesterday. Does anyone have any idea on what might have happened to my Magic Mouse? Thanks to everyone who can give me some tips.

Magic Mouse: Mouse not working optical visor

The optical light doens't work.

I opened the mouse, cleaned and even doing that the light doesn't work.

What can I do? Should I replace the optical visor ?
The button doesn't work also.

I recently got a used Magic Mouse 1 for $3 and It seems like the right click function is not really working (it sometimes works) and when right click didn't work, double tap to zoom also didn't work. Is the two black stickers on the capacitive responsible for this ?

Magic Mouse: Any way to fix the battery contacts?

When I went to try and turn on this Magic Mouse, the mouse did not turned on.

When I went to change the batteries, I found corrosion on the battery terminals. I changed the batteries anyway, and the mouse didn't work.

It also seems like the battery acid may have gotten inside the mouse, since this contact is not working correctly and does not spring back up. I was able to fix it a little bit and get it to spring up again, but it still sticks.

Is there any way to fix this? The mouse was $80 and it seems like I got lucky and caught it before it could get any worse then it already is. It seems like I caught this corrosion while I have time to clean it and get the mouse working again.

Everything is working on my Magic Mouse but the laser sensor, itself. I can gesture, scroll, right click, double-click to select a word. BUT the laser no longer comes on, so I can't move the pointer. Can I replace the laser?

Magic Mouse: Magic Mouse not clicking

I’ve had the Mouse since 2014, and only noticed a problem with it last year. I can move the mouse and the cursor follows, I can scroll too. The problem is when clicking or selecting stuff (e.g. searching for something on Google and then selecting the website I want to visit). How can I fix it? I’ve checked the settings of the Mouse, but it all seems fine, and I’ve tried playing around with it, but there has been no difference.

Magic Mouse: Magic Mouse battery contact is loose

Hi guys,

I have a sweet Magic Mouse (1st gen) but since a week i have a dropping connection. Upon inspection of the mouse i discovered that one of the contacts IN the Magic Mouse is actually loose: i can press it inwards and it even feels like there's a spring behind it to keep in in it's place. But the other one (on the left) is sturdy and i cant push that backwards (to the inside).

I think it's just broken somehow, but is there any way to fix it? I googled for an hour, but no results (also pretty hard to accurately search on this issue).

This is how the battery contact looks like when i press it, really gently even! As you can see, the bottom presses inwards, compared to the contact on the left that doesnt move when i press it.

Magic Mouse: Doesn't finger-scroll any more, but point click and drag ok

Scrolling using the finger doesn’t work anymore, but I can still point at a scrollbar and drag it around. On the same computer, another Magic Mouse doesn’t show this issue. Is it a hardware problem that can be repaired?
