My touch screen seems like it needs to be recalibrate but i can not get to the main menu due to the fact that part of the screen is not working. How do i fix this problem is their a way to restart it to original settings. ?

I was on the road, my GPS was working. I unplugged the power cord from the car outlet. 5 minutes later, I plugged it back in, but my GPS won't come on. To check if the cord got bad, I checked another cord, but the GPS won't come on. I opened the GPS and checked the voltage of the battery. It shows 3.7 volts. Please tell me your opinion on the problem. Thank you.

Not sure if the circled piece at the end of ribbon can be pried up. Didnt want to break it.

Do you simply pull the ribbon out without prying up the circled piece?

Will post pic later today.

@oldturkey03 Ok, finally got the replacment digitizer in. Was able to take off the EMI shield, wasnt too bad. You’re right, was simple zif connector underneath. Now I noticed I have to reuse the overlay from the old unit but it has a connector (yellow box in pic) that I've never dealt with before. How do you take it off? Also, I guess I need double sided tape (red box in pic) to secure the overlay to new digitizer. Any idea was size/type of tape I need?

the connection between the usb port and the charging cable do not fit tight as they normally should? Is there a way to replace the connection on the gps unit?

Hi.

I have a Magellan smart GPS 5390.

It's probably off warranty but it has worked reasonably well until my last update attempt. First, smartgps Eco displayed a message that my unit couldn't be updated since there wasn't enough space. So I deleted some files even though I had well over a gig of space remaining. I was then able to complete the full update to my unit. However, when I disconnected the unit from my computer, the message displayed on the unit was, "Resource not found. Please connect smartgps to smartgps Eco and update your device." I again connect my device to smartgps Eco but theres no update to update the smart GPS with.

Also, live chat and telephone support are non existent.

Has anyone else had this issue and or have a solution to this problem?

Magellan GPS: Have A Magellan RV9490T-LMB

Got this from a a friend of mine that never opened the box, was still in the Shrink Wrap. Took it out of the box and plugged in and all I get is the Magellan Logo on the screen and nothing else? Tried Plugging it into my Desk Top Computer and still nothing but the Magellan Logo on the Screen? Could the battery be dead being not used for about 5 Years? Thanks, Steve

Hi everyone,

I have a Magellan RoadMate 5236T-LM. I need to remove the hard drive so that I can fix some corrupted files and get the GPS running again. I’ve already removed the motherboard, but can’t figure out how to remove the hard drive. It doesn’t seem to be a standard computer hard drive. Does anyone happen to know how to remove the hard drive on this GPS?

Magellan RoadMate 1200: All replacement batteries have 4 wire(and connector)

I bought battery but what I was sent has same voltage and capacity but 4 wires instead of 3( also wrong connector).Would this work if wired to old 3 wire connector. I checked 3 other places and all show same 4 wire battery.

Magellan GPS: Satellite receiver stopped receiving the satellite signal.

Our gps stopped receiving the satellite signal when we were in Alabama. It still thinks we are in Alabama. Everything else still seems to be working except the receiver for the signal. Can this be fixed or replaced?

the GPS does not stay on when turned on now. a box appears stating that the battery needs recharging and it will go into sleep mode. what does this mean and how do i fix it?
