<title><![CDATA[Magellan RoadMate 1200: Power button fell off. What do I do?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>My GPS has not been turning on lately. So, I decided to open it up, to find that the power button had fallen off of the board.</p>

<p>I tried taping it to the board with electrical tape (I suck at soldering) and it turns on sometimes. When it does, the Magellan logo shows up, then a white screen. How do I fix this?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Magellan GPS: GPS says "Resource not found. Please connect..."]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Hi.</p>

<p>I have a Magellan smart GPS 5390.</p>

<p>It's probably off warranty but it has worked reasonably well until my last update attempt. First, smartgps Eco displayed a message that my unit couldn't be updated since there wasn't enough space. So I deleted some files even though I had well over a gig of space remaining. I was then able to complete the full update to my unit. However, when I disconnected the unit from my computer, the message displayed on the unit was, &quot;Resource not found. Please connect smartgps to smartgps Eco and update your device.&quot;  I again connect my device to smartgps Eco but theres no update to update the smart GPS with.</p>

<p>Also, live chat and telephone support are non existent.</p>

<p>Has anyone else had this issue and or have a solution to this problem?</p>

<p><a class="user-mention-link notranslate" href="/User/263105/oldturkey03">@oldturkey03</a>  Ok, finally got the replacment digitizer in. Was able to take off the EMI shield, wasnt too bad. You’re right, was simple zif connector underneath. Now I noticed I have to reuse the overlay from the old unit but it has a connector (yellow box in pic) that I've never dealt with  before. How do you take it off? Also, I guess I need double sided tape (red box in pic) to secure the overlay to new digitizer. Any idea was size/type of tape I need?</p>

<title><![CDATA[Magellan GPS: Have A Magellan RV9490T-LMB]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Got this from a a friend of mine that never opened the box, was still in the Shrink Wrap.  Took it out of the box and plugged in and all I get is the Magellan Logo on the screen and nothing else?   Tried Plugging it into my Desk Top Computer and still nothing but the Magellan Logo on the Screen?  Could the battery be dead being not used for about 5 Years?  Thanks, Steve</p>

<title><![CDATA[Magellan GPS: Magellan 1700-LM Won't fully boot]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I've run the Megellan re-format/ reload software, but the device never fully boots.<br />First time through, it told me it had successfully formatted and copied all files, and that i should remove the SD card press the onscreen OK button.  I followed instructions but it never gets past the spinning wheel.. (Magellan logo, spinning wheel, dark...)   Plugging it into a PC, I can see it's copied all the files from the SD card to the devices storage, but.. no joy.  Bunches of reset/restarts.. no luck.  Isn't there some way to reach in with a PC connection and find out what's up?  Magellan seems to be running their software in some sort of virtual disk environment, or something...</p>

<p>I have a Magellan RoadMate 5236T-LM. I need to remove the hard drive so that I can fix some corrupted files and get the GPS running again. I’ve already removed the motherboard, but can’t figure out how to remove the hard drive. It doesn’t seem to be a standard computer hard drive. Does anyone happen to know how to remove the hard drive on this GPS?</p>
