MacBook Pro 14" Late 2024 M4: Screen Replaced, But Wifi and Bluetooth stopped working

Hi

I have MacBook Pro M4 A3112.(Nov'24). this is my first Macbook.

Initially display screen had some damage, so got the screen replaced and i notice both Wifi and Bluetooth has stopped working.

I took back to the repair guy who helped to replace the screen, but he has no clue why Wifi and Bluetooth are not working.

please find the attached the screenshots and photos I took as part of initial diagnosis I could do.

Please advise, what could be the issue and how to resolve this ?

Thanks

Hi @danj

I did reformat whole Macbook and reinstalled OS. Seems issue still persists.

I connected the MacBook to my router using Rj45 cable with the help of connector so I can access wired network connection to internet.

However I tried to do offline diagnostic and I got the error CNW001 . Have attached screenshot.

Power charger wasn't connected to macbook when I ran the diagnostic so the error PPP020 can be ignored in the image here, as I see the MacBook is working fine when charger is connected.

Let me know what option i have to resolve this CNW001 error.

I am using wired connection for Internet for now, not a substantial solution.

MacBook Pro 14" 2021: macOS 26.4 charge limiter not working, possibly due to replacement bat

]Not sure if this has been reported on or if I just have a weird bug but for the life of me I cannot get the battery charge limiter to work. I thought it would be nice since I rarely use it for more than a few hours at a time and figured it could save me the hassle of replacing the battery again, or at least offset it. Admittedly I do not know if it is due to the battery being aftermarket or if it is just modern macOS doing modern macOS things, so I am just seeing if anyone has similar issues.Edit:

Macbook Pro 14" 2023: MacBook Pro M2 Display glitch is this hardware or software related?

Less than 250ms of a frame

Issue video on youtube (don't forget not everytime randomly and less than 250ms): https://youtube.com/shorts/EHbUNVcB7Dg?s...

On macOS 26.2-26.3 and 26.3.1 (Apple Silicon M2 Pro), I am experiencing a very brief (1-frame) UI compositing glitch on the internal display. The issue occurs within a very brief time window (less than 250 ms), but it is extremely disruptive and visually distracting.

- Not thermal or load-related (tested under sustained high load)

- Installing third-party display scaling tools (e.g., BetterDisplay) reduces the frequency but does not eliminate the issue. (BetterDisplay installed on 26.3 but issue was also consistent at 26.2)

- A clean installation performed according to Apple’s official guidelines did not resolve the issue.

Behavior:

- The glitch appears as a brief (single-frame) layer misalignment or compositing artifact.

- It occurs even during light usage such as web browsing.

- It is particularly noticeable and disruptive while using code editors (UI instability is visually distracting).

Frequency:

- The issue repeats continuously.

- Sometimes it happens very frequently.

- Other times it occurs randomly every few minutes or every few hours.

- The behavior appears non-deterministic but persistent over time.

MacBook Pro 14" 2021: Can I replace or fix the microphone?

The microphone on my M1 Macbook Pro is very muffled.

After some investigation, I'm fairly sure the problem is a blocked grille. But it's hard to identify which (if any) of the hundreds of dimples on the left-hand side are actual holes and therefore need cleaning. Is there any information on this?

MacBook Pro 14" 2021: New ifixit battery won't charge

I've just installed a new ifixit battery (from the "MacBook Pro 14" (A2442, A2779, A2918) Battery" ******kit). My macbook recognises it as a new battery because the health is 100%, compared to my last battery which was around 70%. After I first installed the battery and plugged it in, it immediately said it was at 62% battery and would not charge at all. I left it charging for two hours and shut it down for long periods of time, but nothing has worked so far.

MacBook Pro 14" Late 2024 M4: Liquid damage on M4 Pro and it seems an IC chip needs to be replaced

Hi all, I would like some hints on what could be done next. The battery was already low, so when I had a spill, immediately tried to dry it off, managed to "save the laptop" (when we turned it on, seems to be intact but as soon as we tried to charge it it would either reboot or just wouldn't power) — however as soon as we dried it for about 3-4 days, and tried to plug the MagSafe, it won't charge.

Took it to the third party repair and they mentioned there was a short, most likely located in the logicboard. When we checked the voltage, there is 5v on the USB-C ports, meaning it should still be fine....?

There's no schematics released yet. My only assumption is that the IC chip has to be replaced, but their concern is getting the right IC chip.

I'm no technician and the third party has way more expereience in electronics and micro soldering component parts. But I am losing my marbles since I just got this thing. Currently still under progress (been about a day ish).

MacBook Pro 14" Late 2024 M4: Odd screen issues! With Hub connected external display

@danj Apologies, I managed to erase the post, and missed the comment. Lol, thanks for the response on the post I made, my original intent was to post here, not create a new one.

In response to your question. Funny enough, the problem occurs even on the mac internal display when connected to the hub, whichever hub, a kensigton and a lenovo one, with different monitors too. The screen stays black on all of them including the laptop one and only when I unplug and click on the power button it gets back , sometimes even having to restart the computer. But I can see some flickers of movement of the mouse and that the apps are running.

Original Response: I am having the same issue. Were you ever able to fix it? It just started on my MacBook Pro M4. It happens only on this Mac. I have tried two different hubs and monitors, and the same issue occurs. If I unplug the USB-C hub and touch the power button on the Mac, then the screen on the Mac comes up, and I can reconnect the hubs just fine.

I am making such a mess.

MacBook Pro 14 inch (M4 Pro, 12Core, 24GB RAM, 512GB Storage) arrived with no charge. Attached some screenshots from coconut battery.

I bought it new today (Dec 1st 2025) at Best Buy (Coconut battery says battery is from jan 2025). This happened on the first unit I received, so I exchanged it. The second unit had the same state of charge (dead) but is charging fine as I am typing this out. Currently coconut battery is claiming I have 103% Health, but this is strange to me, as a Lithium Ion battery should degrade if left at 0% state of charge for long.

TL;DR: Macbook arrived with zero charge, is charging fine, should I return it and buy from Apple directly?

MacBook Pro 14" 2021: "Service Recommended" after new battery install

I replaced my battery in my 2021 14" Macbook Pro. Fairly simple with no issues..Now it shows the cycle count reset to 3 which is correct, the power remaining which is also correct but it still states "Service Recommended".
Is there another reset I need to do?

MacBook Pro 14" 2021: Trackpad rubbing screen after battery replacement

I recently did a battery replacement on my 2021 14" MacBook Pro. Part of that procedure involves removing the trackpad, which I did. I thought I had secured it correctly, but it seems that the trackpad may have been sitting a little too high up, and it has rubbed against the screen, which makes it appear there is a constant smudge. I've obviously tried cleaning it off, to no avail.

Last night I took the trackpad out again and did my best to reseat it correctly.

I'm still not sure if it's correct--compared to my work laptop (a 2024 MacBook Air) the trackpad is clearly indented a fraction of a millimeter -- you can feel it with your fingers when you swipe off the trackpad. On my MacBook Pro, some edges of the trackpad feel like they are underneath the chassis, while others (especially the bottom right corner of the trackpad) feel perfectly flat with the chassis.

Some questions:

1. What is normal for a 2021 MacBook Pro? Should the trackpad be slightly indented below the chassis? (P.S. this is why the repair manual needs more than just "do it in reverse")
2. As I have things now, is it likely that the trackpad is still rubbing on the screen? I'm probably going to want to replace the screen now, and I don't want to spend $500 and then ruin the new screen because the trackpad still isn't right.
3. If the trackpad is wrong, how can I get it lower? I've already tried reseating it, and it does not seem to want to go any lower in the chassis. Am I missing something?
