Retina MacBook 2016: Intermittent quiet beep, then quiet dull click

I just swapped the lowercase and battery on my 2016 12” retina MacBook. (I previously successfully swapped screen assembly.) All connections seemed solid and it buttoned back up without a problem. But when I plugged it in it began to start up in internet recovery mode, the. just went black. Upon trying to start again I heard a quiet beep that repeated every eight seconds… then longer in between beeps. I left it plugged in overnight to charge but now hear a full quiet click when I try to start - otherwise completely dead. I think I did everything right in putting it back together, but no dice.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Could I have damaged the ram somehow??

Retina MacBook 2017: No keyboard and trackpad

Hi!

So I got a MacBook 12” Retina mid 2017.

And the built-in keyboard and trackpad doesn’t work. If I go to settings to adjust the trackpad it says that it can’t even find a trackpad.

The keyboard doesn’t light up or anything. But the power button works.

So I have done my fair chair of googling around. Tried everything that I can. At the moment I’m using a corded keyboard and trackpad.

I’m now done to thinking it’s a mechanical error.

I’m totally open to fixing this myself, buying some tools and following guides. But I’m thinking of replacing the IPD cable (?) and maybe the trackpad?

What do you guys think?

Retina MacBook 2015: My MacBook only charge with low watt charger

I changed the battery for one purchased at ifixit, I completed the entire change process without any problem following the steps in the tutorial. I connected the computer initially to a 5w iphone charger to protect the SMC, then perform the battery calibration process, charge to 100% then use the pc until the battery runs out, then charge to 100%. After performing the calibration, the computer does not charge with the original charger and only charges the battery with the 5w charger. Has anyone had this problem? Is it a battery problem? Is there any way to solve it?

Retina MacBook 2015: MacBook 12inch weird issues with shutdown

Hello,

my MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015) shuts down every time I put it to sleep by either closing the lid or manually. That's not the issue though because when I go to turn it on by the power button I get no response! The only way I can get it to turn back on was to put it on the charger and do the SMC reset. It has been two days of me using it with resetting the SMC but I realized today that the date and time are not correct. So, I am gonna take it to an apple service provider but I want to know what the issue is before I do. I have tried doing SMC reset without the charger but I get no response. the week prior I was also getting random shutdowns and a charge battery logo.

MacBook Unibody Model A1278: Intermittent powering on, not properly detecting batteries

Hi, I own this MacBook A1278, the 2.4 GHz variant. The logic board number is 820-2327-A

Now to the problem. It won’t detect any batteries. The level indicator doesn’t show anything. Charger connector turns amber after plugging in the battery. Also, when testing with ASD EFI, the battery passes every test except temperature reading, which is too high, over the limit. ASD OS can’t even read that sensor. In system profiler, the battery doesn’t show up at all.

In ASD OS the log reads following:

[01/01/01 00:40:06] Temp (TB3T) - Battery temperature (test #1) - Sensor Reads Within Operating Range - Check to ensure that sensor reads within operating range. [00:40:06] ERROR -- 1 [Unable to read sensor] -- (-1.00) TEST FAILED

Another problem with this machine is, that when I push the power button, the screen powers on, as does the hard drive, but nothing happens. After maybe 10-15, depending on the environment, the mac gets warm, and then powers on just fine. When I reboot it, or just briefly unplug the power cable, it turns on straight away. When I let it cool down a bit, it take some time again for the mac to heat up and turn on. When I tried powering the mac on with SMC bypass, the fan ramped up to max RPM as it should, but it never turned on.

PPBUS_G3H reads 12.35V instead of 12.6V, even when the machine is on. I also didn’t find any shorts on this line.

MacBook Unibody Model A1278: Low voltage on 3V42 line

I have a 820-2327 logic board fault which occurred in odd circumstances.

The laptop was working OK and I had powered it off (I thought I had) and was beside me while I was doing something else. I then became aware of the laptop fan running at high speed. The fan could only be stopped by removing the battery. Replacing the battery resulted in the fan either starting immediately or random running on and off.

The fault has progressed to the fan not running when the battery is connected (which is good as it should not be running when switched off). However the laptop will not boot and there is no green light when the charger is connected.

On further investigation the PP3V42_G3H measures less than 1v. Would explain the lack of green light on charger.

The PP3V42_G3H point measures 4.8ohm to ground. On a working board is 65K.

So something is low resistance on the 3.42v line.

Looking around the U6990 area I am hoping that C6999 on the line to ground is the culprit, although not yet had a chance to remove it to check. Also there is so much else on that line that could cause a low resistance.

My question has anyone seen a similar fault (fan running when powered off).

Also anyone have any ideas on the low 3V42 on where the next best area to check is.

Retina MacBook 2015: MacBook 12 2015 won’t turn on

The display started acting up (there used to be horizontal flickering on screens with a lot of white colours) yesterday when it would literally show wide vertical lines when opened beyond 90 degree angle. I opened it up to see if the display cable is loose so I disconnected and reconnected it and then the Macbook won’t turn on.

I disconnected the battery before I disconnected anything. Now there’s no chime, display or anything after plugging in the charger and pressing the power button.

After I press the power button, the battery light on the inside, not the screen, doest light up, though.

I ordered a display flex cable just in case but at this point, I don’t know what else could’ve happened. Does a defective/disconnected display cable affect the power of the Macbook? Like, not even a chime after pressing the power button?

What else can I try now?

MacBook Unibody Model A1342: Will not turn on

Hello. MacBook 2009 a1342. The magsafe power adapter light will come on when connected. It went from orange to green, but my mac will not turn on. The battery is fairly new ( 3 years ago) and has been in storage for most of that time. I know I need a new Mag port for the computer because it is damaged. But the light on the charger does come on.
Retina MacBook 2016: Dead Display After Battery Replacement
