MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk: White Powder Around Back Of Motherboard

I found a b550 mother board in the trash on garbage day I hope the pictures can show decently

I’m 80% it’s water damage but not entirely sure.

The cmos battery terminal did have a small amount of rust on the inside as well.

I have a cpu coming to test it with. But before I do I wanted to make sure.

I plan on cleaning the motherboard throughly with 99% isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush.

So my big question is this water damage and is there a way to test it without potentially frying my components? I have a gpu I’m willing to lose but the cpu I don’t want to risk it.

Any help would be appreciated and advice would be great.

MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk: PC keeps shutting down & restarting, different error every time.

I’m working on a desktop PC with Windows 11 that came in for blue screening. Upon testing, I realized that not only does the PC BSOD and restart but it also freezes (duration of freeze prior to restarting varies, sometimes it’s minutes, sometimes I have to manually shut the PC down and restart) and then restarts without any blue screen. Event viewer has a different error every time, and the BSOD is different every time. I have attached pictures of some of them. This happens even on a fresh Windows 11 install. I cannot use the PC long enough to update many drivers, though I have done the chipset driver. No change.

I have tried:

-Reinstalling windows

-Resetting and updating BIOS

-Replacing the motherboard (previous mobo model was Asus ROG Strix B550-A Gaming), and the issue was the same with that installed.

-Using only one RAM stick, then the other.

-Installing to and using a different boot drive

-CMOS reset

-Power drain (not sure what it’s actually called; I unplugged the power cord and held the power button for 30 seconds ish)

Current specs are as follows:

Motherboard - MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk

Processor - AMD Ryzen 7 3800X

RAM - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32 GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600MHz CMW32GX4M2D3600C18

GPU - Asus KO GeForce RTX 3060 Ti OC Edition 8GB GDDR6 KO-RTX3060TI-O8G-V2-GAMING
