MSI GS63VR 7RF Stealth Pro: need to factory reset but it wont let me

Im trying reset my laptop but once i hit f3 and go press factory reset and everything a notification windows pops up saying “1. please make sure the disk partition’s layout is factory default setting. 2. please make sure current OS HDD is in the master HDD place” im not sure what this means nor do i know what to do.

Hi! My MSI GS73VR has a 4K panel in it that I removed. The part number on the panel is "B173ZAN01.0". I was thinking of replacing it with a 1080p panel with the part number "B173HAN03.0". Will there be problems with this? Thank you!

Hello, i am looking to replace my ssd in this same exact unit. The only issue is i am not sure of which ssd this has. Here is the one currently installed in the unit as i type (KINGSTON RBUSNS8180S3128GJ ) Can you guys maybe help me figure out what ssd to purchase so i can swap this one out for a new ssd with more storage?

Hello everyone,

My MSI GS63VR STEALTH PRO was running normaly when suddenly crached and the blue screen appeared .. after analysing, it restarts and the same thing happened againg .. after some attempts, the screen would stop at the logo (MSI) until i force it to turn off and stops again at the logo if i turn it back on.

I tried to enter the BIOS by clicking on F3 but than when the screen turned black and never turned on after

I tested the RAM, the HDD and the SSD, tried to link it via HDMI to my TV but nothing appears.

What possibly can bee problem ? What should i do ?

Im desperat 😞

One of the fans in my laptop is now making a load clicking noise and sometimes has difficulty spinning up on boot. When it struggles like this there is a loud scratching sound coming from the fan. The problem fan is the middle of the 3 fans. I tried blowing air through the fan with an air compressor from both the top and the bottom of the chassis. This did not resolve the issue. I am trying to see if there is a way for me to replace the fan myself, but I have no idea where to source the new one from.

Hi all,

Been a bit stumped on this: a few months ago, my MSI GS63VR started dying the moment the AC adapter was removed, despite being fully charged on battery.

I assumed this might be a faulty battery, so just recently replaced and installed, but no change. I’ve attempted to do an MSI battery calibration, but it just powers down the computer the moment I hit go, with no change after restart/recharge.

I’ve been searching high and low, but a bit stumped — would be really grateful if anyone could offer some advice/wisdom/perspective.

How would you remove the keyboard on the GS63VR? There are quite a few plastic caps that lock the plate and keyboard in place. Would it be fine to snap them off?

I have an MSI GS63VR 7RF-252US and need a replacement battery. Based on information on this site it seems the battery I need is a BTY-M6J, but when I google that to verify it all the MSI laptop model numbers listed as compatible with the BTY-M6J battery end in “CN” instead of “US”.

Is this the correct battery for a -252US model?

I recently bougth the GS62 8RD. The sound was no longer working. I got in device management. There was an error on HD-audio. with the message: device does not start (code 10). I tried reinstalling the drivers, resetting my entire laptop. non of it worked. Does anyone have a clue what that i need to do next?

MY CPU fan generally works at 3000-6500 rpm where all of sudden it started making very wierd noises and the rpm dropped to 150 and even sometimes 0 rpm and is leading to CPU overhearing.

Can you suggest me a solution ??

I managed to lose a piece of it so needing to find a replacement.

It's paper-thin, silvery on both sides, fairly stiff and strong. Not sure why its there

but I'm guessing insulator/smoother. I was thinking of trying Nashua

hvac foil tape, which is rated to 125C.
