MSI GE72 2QF Apache Pro: Pink hue on internal display, normal on external

Hi,

I have this GE72 2QF APACHE PRO laptop for about 2 years. (using it for ~1.5).

The screen had burned green pixel on it from day one :( But never mind that...

I always had it connected to a separate monitor and used that other monitor as the main display, and turning ON and OFF the laptop's when I need an extra screen, in Extend mode.

Yesterday while i was playing some YouTube videos on the laptop display and playing Hearthstone on the main display (the external one) I noticed the colors on the laptop's went pink.

There's also ghosting on the corners so if i leave an app like notepad open for a few mins I can still see the title and such on the corners of the screen when i close the app. (called "Ghosting").

And turning it on and off didn't fixed it.

Opening/Closing the lid slightly (or more than that) doesn't seem to cause any effect on the colors, they are just pink when the display is ON.

I added links to 2 YouTube videos I recorded showing what I'm talking about.

Links:

https://youtu.be/Std5P8HC1S8

https://youtu.be/ATyq5OBU_V4

also some pictures:

I tried opening it, unplugged and replugged the cables, didn't worked at all.

it's pink even before Windows comes up (in BIOS etc).

I reinstalled Windows (regardless of this issue, got a new SSD...yay)

but it didn't helped, didn't expect it would since the problem exists even before Windows come up.

What is more likely the problem, the LCD panel or the video cable? change the panel is easy, changing the cable is too much dangerous work...

Hope you have some knowledge about this, Thank you.

MSI GE72 2QF Apache Pro: Battery change mAh difference - Will it work?

Hello everyone,

I finally got my 6 year old MSI GE72 2QE up and running again!

The battery was causing issues, so I removed it and now it works perfectly.

So I wanted to get a new battery, so my work won't get lost if I pull the plug or if there is a power outtage.

The battery there was IN the laptop ORIGINAL had 4730 mAH but the ones I see on EBAY is 5200 mAh, will there be any consequences with the difference in the mAh, since there also is a slight difference in the Volt and Ah (amps)

I am using below universal charger:

100-240V

2.2A - 50-60 Hz

19V - 7.89A

The original battery:

4730 mAH
51 Wh
10.86V - 4.73Ah

Replacement battery1:

5200 mAh

48 Wh

10.8V

Replacement battery2:

3834 mAh

41.40 Wh

10.8V - 3.834 aH

Since money is a bit short, and I want to get maybe one more year out of my MSI, I was thinking that a battery with shipping at 40€ is worth the deal.

MSI GE72 2QF Apache Pro: The headphone jack on my laptop doesnt record my microphone

Some context, this laptop has a two audio jacks, one for sound and one for a microphone. In the past, when i plugged my headset in the sound jack i would be able to hear properly and the microphone would also be working through the sound jack. Now, whenever i plug it in the sound goes through the speakers and my headset at the same time and only goes over to only the headset after i twist it a bit. In addition, the sound jack randomly stopped picking up my microphone and now my laptop microphone doesnt work either.

Does anyone have a clue on how to fix this?

MSI GE72 2QF Apache Pro: Laptop not posting could be ram?

Hi

The laptop powers on hdd turns on for a sec then winds down they keyboard lights up and the CPU fan kicks in after a minute or two but screen is off.

So this is the 3rd time this problem occurred

First time I couldn't find a fix as I couldn't diagnos the issue

I was away for 90 days when i came back I took it to a technician who fixed it in like 2 minutes he said it was a bad ram stick which wasn't really the case because I reseated the “bad” ram stick and it worked.

Laop worked fine for about 9 months then it happened again. I took out the hdd reseated the ram and it worked now 6 months later the issue came up again this time

I took out the hdd tried it with both sticks on different positions even tried another ram stick but no results what am I missing here should I power cycle or something and if so how ?

MSI GE72 2QF Apache Pro: Mini Display port issue

I’m using this laptop but model is GE72 2QL. I was using a external monitor via mini display as my main monitor. At one point of time, the external monitor would lose connection and would reconnect back. I guessed that its the adapter or the cable issue and went to buy a new one, but didn’t work. I’ve tried to contact my local customer service but they didn’t help much, for them to replace the mini display port it would take almost 1 week to do so. I couldn’t be bother to further contact them about it. Any ways to resolve this issue ?
