MSI GE70 2PE Apache Pro: troubleshoot wireless adapter issue (antenna broken?)

This laptop stopped being able to connect to the internet wirelessly without a USB dongle a while back; it's been years since it worked. It connects to ethernet just fine. I recently inherited it and slapped Linux Mint on there, whereupon the wireless did work, for about an hour, before conking out again. Though I haven't been able to get it to connect to wireless since then, this is consistent with how it started acting when the wireless first gave out, before the laptop's former owner gave up and got a USB adapter, when this device was still a Windows 7 (maybe 8?) machine. The fact that it occurs across OSes, and isn't entirely, consistently dead, led me to believe that perhaps the wireless adapter itself had gone bad (as opposed to there being a driver issue). However, replacing it with a known working adapter did not fix the problem. Now I'm wondering if the antenna is broken (maybe a break in the wire?). Does this seem plausible? If so, is it feasible to replace the antenna, and is someone willing to write up a guide about it? Or should I just give up and get another USB adapter?

MSI GE70 2PE Apache Pro: Dark Rock Slim does not work with AM4 sockets

Hello,

I built my first PC myself about 1.5 weeks

ago with the following components: MSI X470 Gaming Plus MAX

Ryzen 5 3600

Dark Rock Slim

G.Skill Aegis RAM (2x8GB)

(other components gladly on request)

now had I have problems installing the cooler:

I put the spacers out, put the brackets on and screwed them on, applied thermal grease, and put the cooler on.

Then the "bridge" must be put through the cooler and screwed to the brackets, usually so that the prongs of the bridge point downwards so that they interlock with the prongs of the cooler.

The problem came up that there was a loose 0.5-1 CM distance between the bridge and the brackets, so it could not be screwed together.

I then turned the bridge over as an emergency solution, then the screwing worked, but the radiator is not really stuck.

I hope someone has an idea of what it could be ...

Best regards

MSI GE70 2PE Apache Pro: Female Jack Port faulty (?) what to do next

When rotating the headphone cables, audio disconnects. But only with SOME cables.

I have a bunch of cable that I tested, and it seems like the sturdier the plug (newer), the better the connection is (it doesn’t disconnect when rotating, some are just fine !)

But, no matter the cable, a little pull, and it disconnects.

I tried to apply alcohol (gently) to remove any tarnishing (?) but didn’t work.

Could it be a weak pin on the female port ?

As far as I know, I can take it apart, disassemble it, solder a new one (I highly doubt i can)

Buy a cheap USB audio adapter (last resort)

Buy a new IO Board.

Is there anything I can do to “bend back” a pin ? Am I missing something and the problem is somewhere else ?

Thanks in advance
