Lorex LW2742: What should I do if I am experiencing poor picture quality?

My picture quality is poor. The image is either too dark, or over exposed. The system is hooked up properly and I am receiving a signal with an image, I just can't see it very well. What should I do?

My camera is recording lots of motion that I do not need. This is causing my monitor to die quickly. I do not need video of cars passing in the distance or of my swaying bird feeder when there are strong winds.

Lorex LW2742: need to replace the female cat 6 connector on my lorex lnb8005-c

I have a LNB 8005-c camera it has 6 wires (blue, orange, purple, gray, brown, yellow) I see some say you have to jumper 7&8 4&5 not sure how to add wire to the rj45 connector and if you replace the camera female end with a male end how would that effect the pinout would you reverse it and plug both male ends to an adapter.
