Logitech UE MegaBoom 3: Hooting owl noise every 9 seconds

Hi, I have a Logitech Megaboom 3 thats been great since new but suddenly has taken on an audible Owl “Whoo” noise every 9 seconds while the power is on wether music is playing or not. At the same time as the “Whoo” noise, the power button flashes red. I contacted Ultimate Ears customer service and provided video footage and received a simple statement that i needed to purchase a new speaker and was provided a link to their online store. I dont like throwing things like this out if there is a simple fix. I can purchase a replacement battery from www.newpower99.com and its very simple to replace but not sure that this will fix the problem. Does anyone know what this “Whoo” sound means?
