Lg k8v: My phone randomly lockups as I'm entering my passcode?

So I’ve had this phone for about 3 years, since midsummer 2017. It was a starter phone and I’m getting a new one soon, but this has been a problem for a while. When I’m entering my passcode and I enter it too quickly, the screen and phone will lock up and I have to wait for the battery to die and the phone to shut itself off. Holding the power button or power and volume down buttons do nothing, even if I hold them for a minute or more. I’m not sure what version of Andriod it is running, due to the fact that my phone is currently in this state and I don’t pay that close of attention, but I can retrieve that information once my phone dies. I’ve never observed any ill effects after this happens.
