Lenovo Y50-70: Why is my screen blinking?

So I bought a new laptop 2 weeks ago that worked fine. Now however the screen is blinking. It turns on and off every 3-4 seconds. It doesn't do it as much when i use it or when i play games. I can mostly notice it when i leave it on of a while.

I tried downloading and updating drivers a lot of times but nothing seems to work.

I've owned a Lenovo Y50-70 Touch Notebook for about 5 months and have had no hardware issues until now.
Lenovo Y50-70: Screen won't turn on, but everything else seems fine.

Some background info: I have a Lenovo Y50, I believe it's the y50-70 variant, but I'm not 100% sure. It's a 15.6inch with an i7, 16gb ram, sata drive, and an Nvidia 860m with 4gb of graphics. It was purchased in September of 2014, so it's a fairly early model of the y50. it's a bit beat up, but hasn't had any major functional issues to this point.

Now to the actual problem: When I boot the laptop, the keyboard backlight and status lights on the front all come on like normal, but the screen stays black (not just a black image being displayed, the screen is off). The problem has occured in the past, but was intermittent and could be fixed by letting it sit unplugged with the lid closed (I have no way of knowing if this actually helped, but it usually booted after that) for a few minutes before trying to boot again. The problem now seems quite permanent. I removed the backing last night and took a closer look, and the connections all appear to be fine. I'm not sure if it's relevant or not, but the laptop was left unplugged and powered off for about 72 hours before it refused to boot. The status light indicates that it still has battery, and I've tried it both with and without having the charger plugged it. I've also tried it with an external monitor without success.

My initial inclination is that there is a problem with the graphics card, or some other internals rather than the screen itself, but I really have no way of knowing, as hardware isn't my area of expertise. I'm a CS student, so if anyone could post answers ASAP, it would be VERY much appreciated.

Lenovo Y700-14ISK: Lenovo Y700 GTX 960m Issue

Good day everyone!

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y700 gaming laptop. My issue is with my GTX 960m graphics card not working properly / not being recognized (Error 43, Error 32, and Error 10). Issue started after I was gaming one day and I closed the screen while the game was running. It wouldn't work properly after that. Laptop is used very lightly and usually only for browsing and light activities (rarely for gaming). First owner and personal use only so I am sure it didn't fall or take a blow. Also it is used in an air conditioned environment (so heating shouldn't be an issue). Things I tried to do to fix the issue:

1- Uninstall/stop then reinstall/run the graphics driver.

2- Uninstall graphics driver using DDU program then doing a fresh re-install of it.

3- Switching Integrated/dedicated GPU settings in BIOS in hope of reactivating it or something.

4- Taking laptop apart to clean it and check for accumulated dust (no accumulated dust).

5- Update BIOS, sound drivers, and various other drivers from Lenovo website.

6- Reset laptop while keeping files.

7- Reset laptop without keeping files.

8- Various little steps from different forums and Youtube.

9- Ensure Windows 10 is up to date.

Weird detail: When sometimes the graphics card is detected and Nvidia control panel shows up in the right click options (on desktop), I try to interact with it but shortly the laptop gets a blue screen and restarts.

Any help is appreciated as I am losing hope to ever game on this laptop again (this has been going on for months) xD.

Edit: I did try to post this on the Lenovo English forum but I got no answers.

Thanks

Hi!

Thanks for your answer. Yes usually after uninstalling then restarting, the GPU would have an error code (error 43 is the most common). Other times it has errors 32 or 10.

This is the result of the test:

Edit: For some reason, picture is not showing up. I did the simple scan and all components passed.

Lenovo Y50-70: Dog peed on my laptop and now the screen won’t turn on and other stuff

Hi guys.

As the title says my dog peed on my laptop. My laptop would turn on but the screen wouldn’t. After my dog did that I took out the back and cleaned out the battery as well as my SSD card that I’ve had replaced for the Hard drive with a wet cloth as well as cleaning wipes to clean out the urine. I’m not too confident on taking it apart since I do not have the manual anymore. I’m unsure what to do next.

When I would plug it in to charge the battery light would turn orange and blink every couple of seconds. I’m thinking the battery may have a blown out fuse or the screen may have malfunctioned. But I wanna do everything I can before I would send it in to a business that could potentially fix it.

Any help or advice is appreciated!!!

Lenovo Y50-70: I have Pink screen / Ghosting Display Issues

I've had my lenovo for about 2 months , no issues apart from the processor throttling when heavy gaming , which is from what i've gathered a problem with cooling due to crappy manufacturing. Anyway I woke up today , played a solid 2 hours of League of legends on my laptop , turned it off , gave it a bit off a wipe with a cloth , very gently around the LCD area as usual , then when I went to turn it back on , it had this pinkish tint in the screen , like a magnet had been near one of those TV's , so i turned it off and turned it back on , because i had fixed it before by doing such , but now it has this Ghosting display showing the desktop whilst its booting and when im using any apps or browser , it also has a pink tint , anyway , seen some people with the same issue , tried their solutions , drivers are up to date , if i plug in an external monitor the external monitor's display is perfect , so i can assume it is my LCD. I don't really want to go through the hasle of a new LCD , and find out that my LCD works perfectly or something , so i just wanted to ask if anyone has some solutions for this and if it has happened to anyone else here ? I did also take off the screen , fiddled around with the Laptop LCD cable but no joy , just the same old pink screen with ghosting.

Lenovo Y50-70: Where is the keyboard ribbon?

Long story short: My keyboard and touchpad decline to work however when I press a spot somewhere on the keyboard sometimes it works again for a short period of time. Very short. Which is why I want to unplug and plug in the ribbon, the only problem is that I don't know where it is.
