Now to the actual problem: When I boot the laptop, the keyboard backlight and status lights on the front all come on like normal, but the screen stays black (not just a black image being displayed, the screen is off). The problem has occured in the past, but was intermittent and could be fixed by letting it sit unplugged with the lid closed (I have no way of knowing if this actually helped, but it usually booted after that) for a few minutes before trying to boot again. The problem now seems quite permanent. I removed the backing last night and took a closer look, and the connections all appear to be fine. I'm not sure if it's relevant or not, but the laptop was left unplugged and powered off for about 72 hours before it refused to boot. The status light indicates that it still has battery, and I've tried it both with and without having the charger plugged it. I've also tried it with an external monitor without success.

My initial inclination is that there is a problem with the graphics card, or some other internals rather than the screen itself, but I really have no way of knowing, as hardware isn't my area of expertise. I'm a CS student, so if anyone could post answers ASAP, it would be VERY much appreciated.

CPU temperature constantly outside the norm. Even after replacing the thermal paste and full cleaning of dust nothing has changed.

When I'm surfing on the net the CPU temperature is 55-65 deg on balanced power mode.

When I start system stress test - after 3 min i get CPU overheating.

All drivers is up to date according to lenovo site.

OS: Windows 10 x64

I suspect case in the BIOS version, but it also updated to the latest version.

Have any ideas?

As the title says my dog peed on my laptop. My laptop would turn on but the screen wouldn’t. After my dog did that I took out the back and cleaned out the battery as well as my SSD card that I’ve had replaced for the Hard drive with a wet cloth as well as cleaning wipes to clean out the urine. I’m not too confident on taking it apart since I do not have the manual anymore. I’m unsure what to do next.

When I would plug it in to charge the battery light would turn orange and blink every couple of seconds. I’m thinking the battery may have a blown out fuse or the screen may have malfunctioned. But I wanna do everything I can before I would send it in to a business that could potentially fix it.

Any help or advice is appreciated!!!

i have a question related to my gtx 860m. it was working fine and suddenly something happened to it. i am not sure what happened.

while gpu is enabled through device manager, it slows down my laptop and cpu starts working on full speed. laptop starts to lags a lot then bsod happens. reboot take longer time then usual. and it makes very hard to use my laptop

if i disable my gpu through device manger. laptop works fine like nothing happened to it. no performance issues in cpu, hdd and vice versa.

i have already tried many solutions from different websites. like checking drivers and uninstalling it and reinstall and a lot of fixes. also reinstalling windows but still nothing.

i hope you guys understand what i am saying.

Though it does charge when, the laptop is turned off (I know this from the LED indicator on the computer).

I thought the problem might have been from the charger cable because there was a little plastic piece that had snaped off. This might have caused a bridging between plus and minus.

I then changed the cable on the charger by soldering on a new one. This didn’t help.

I borrowed a multimeter from a friend to check if the port in the laptop was getting the right voltage, which it does.

It might be important to ad that before I changed the cable on the charger. I was sometimes able to charge it while turned on, if I moved the cable a bit. Though this was quite a while ago, because I haven’t the laptop for a long time.

Is there anything else I can do to maybe fix it?

Today when I started the laptop the screen started white then it started to get colors like rainbow like the white color fading slowely and getting these rainbow colors

When I move the laptop lid to a certain degree the screen is normal but after a while it comes back again and I need to move it to get it working , I suspected a loose screen cable and I replaced it but the problem stills there , and when the screen goes like this It doesn't respond, I mean it's not just colored screen it's colored + unresponsive , I tried an external display and it works fine so I don't think it's the graphic driver .

Help please !

Would faulty lcd panel or inverter give symptoms like this ?

I need technical support for a strange problem on the screen of this laptop. When switched on at times, the screen turns purple or flashes purple. If I turn off and on again, closing and reopening the screen returns to normal.

What kind of hardware damage is the flashing and color change due to? The model is the full-hd and this defect appeared randomly a few days ago. Can I repair it by myself or should I be offered an out of warranty service?

When I write down my serial number on the Lenovo site I found an lcd cover and lcd panel

My first question is do I have to replace my cover as well as my panel? The damage is on my screen only and I think there is no damage to the cover. Also on my laptop box it's written

Also someone suggested to replace my upper case for keyboard since my keyboard was damaged a while ago with a water spill but when I was looking for parts on the Lenovo website I found there were two internal keyboard one with a uppercase C label and one with a duel color I am confused what to look for to fix my keyboard.

My main issue is that I don't want to buy the wrong parts and would like someone to help me with at least finding the correct parts so I can order them since I don't live in the USA but I can ship from there to Jordan I would appreciate any help thank you.

So my problem is, that my Lenovo Y50-70 wont turn on at all. Only the fan starts when holding the power or recovery button. (Fan only works for 10 secs. then the whole laptop is quiet, USB 3.0 Ports has Voltage the 10 secs. fan is running)

would be nice if i get an answear here.

Maybe the Problem is electrostatic charge. but since i cant remove the battery i ve no idea how to make a discharge.
