Lenovo Y410P: Why my laptop keep restarting when battery is plugged in?

I’m using my laptop mostly from home, so i used to unplug the batter and use just the power adapter directly. Once i tried to plugin my battery, but the laptop kept restarting and takes maximum 10 seconds and restarts again continuously non stop till i remove the battery.

I though that the batter was damaged so i bought a new one. But its doing the same thing exactly. I searched for the same problems on several forums, but unfortunately found nothing so far.

I would be grateful if someone could help me with this.

Lenovo Y410P: y510p Bios Location in the motherboard

I need to know exacly wich IC is the Bios and the eeprom to reset the password that i forgot or to replace the bios and the eeprom if it goes wrong.

I couldn't found more info on my own.

To reset the password that i forgot i already try to remove the bios battery but it didn't work, i let the laptop without the bios battery, without the battery and without current for 8 hours so that doesn't work, my only two options is to find a program that can retrive my password (if someone knows of one that works for this model is better than the other solution) or to try the hardware solution, reseting the eeprom memory or replacing the chips.

Lenovo Y410P: Why does the screen show horizontal lines at particular lid positions?

My screen shows horizontal lines and display gets yellowish at some particular positions and in some positions it works just fine. Another problem is that the laptop doesnot take charge in when running or not in full battery. It charges when I remove the battery, plug in the charger and then boot it and latter push in the battery. In this particular order. Any fix to this problem? Are both these Inter related?

Lenovo Y410P: Why won't my laptop recognize my battery/AC adapter?

One day, I decided to use the Lenovo Battery Management and full charge/discharge my battery. The next morning, the battery was discharged, but my laptop couldn't recognize the AC adapter. After trying a number of things, I discovered that my laptop can only charge if I:

1. Take out the battery & AC adapter.

2. Plug in the AC adapter to a wall outlet.

3. Plug the power cord into my laptop.

4. Turn on the laptop

5. Re-attach the battery.

The battery will now charge. But if I disconnect the AC adapter from the laptop or the wall socket, I will have to shut down my laptop and repeat the above steps to charge my battery. Thank you very much in advance and I hope you can solve my problem!

Lenovo Y410P: Looking for a replacement motherboard trackpad ribbon cable connector

While disassembling my computer, I accidentally broke the thin plastic flap on the ribbon connector that connects the touchpad to the motherboard. Now I can't use my touchpad. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get a replacement plastic flap, seems like it would be an easy fix if I could get my hands on one of those. I'd rather not shell out $80 to buy a used motherboard just so I could harvest this one tiny part.

Also, if anyone knows where I could find some replacement machine screws to hold the bottom cover in place, that would be great too. I managed to lose a few.

Thanks.
