I connected my laptop to an hdmi tv, from there its screen froze, i turned it off removed it from the hdmi cable, tried to switch it on but it failed to boot up. What am getting is a dark screen no evidence of boot up at the same time after switching it on the led stays on for a few seconds then laptop switches its self off.

Hello there.

When I first bought the Lenovo V310-15IKB laptop, everything was working as intended, after some years problems with USBs started showing up. At first, the USB 2.0 port stopped recognizing USB 3.0 devices, then it stopped working completely. After some time, one of my USB 3.0 ports stopped working with USB 2.0 devices, and then the same problem appeared in the other USB 3.0 port.

Now I have no way to use any USB 2.0 device. Also, I cannot transfer files from my phone (which I connect using a USB 3.0 to USB type C cable. And I was able to do this previously.)

I have not made any USB related changes to the system before observing the problems.

I have tried using different OSs (Linux and Windows) and also installing and reinstalling every driver provided in Lenovo website. I also tried upgrading the firmware and disabling USB suspension in Linux. Nothing worked.

I think (I am really not a expert in this kind of matters) that it is good to mention that my battery is old and not healthy.

I have no idea what the actual cause of the problem is, so you are so kind if you help me. Thank you.

Lenovo V15-ADA: Intermittent charging issue on Lenovo V15-ADA with clicking sound

I have a Lenovo V15-ADA laptop and I’m experiencing an intermittent charging problem.

When the laptop is powered off, it charges normally without any issue. However, when I turn it on and start using it, the charging becomes unstable. The charger connects and disconnects repeatedly.

I also hear a clicking or “tick-tack” sound near the charging port when this happens.

Another important detail: when the battery is at 100% and I plug in the charger while using the laptop, the problem appears at first (charging unstable), but after some time it becomes stable again.

I have tried:

- Unplugging and re-plugging the charger multiple times

- Changing the position of the cable

The issue persists.

I suspect it might be a problem with the charging port (DC jack) or internal connection, but I would like confirmation.

What could be the exact cause and the best solution?
