Lenovo U41-70: I see hard disk not installed

Hi, I have a lenovo laptop model u41-70 in the bios I see hard disk not installed but the disk is there and it is working, I tested it with a serial ata usb adapter. What could be the problem?

first my screen froze, then I tried to shut down. too a lot of attempts. I restarted, and the creen comes up but does not get populated with my files etc. and there is no cursor.
