Lenovo Thinkpad T450s: Laptop will not power on after repair

Long story short I replaced a trackpad for one of our employees, and now the laptop won’t stay on. When I go to turn it on, it will turn on for a few seconds with fans running and everything, the screen will flicker for a brief second then will shut off. Here is the list of steps I already tried. I tried reseating all components. I cleaned the fans. I reseated the processor (yes with new TP). I tested with new CMOS. I changed the battery. I tried without a battery while being plugged in. The only thing that I could possibly think it would be is a short on the motherboard. I do not want to buy a kit for testing and fixing this unless I am at least 90% sure that is the issue. Every other site I post on just tells me to troubleshoot the battery and charging port, but honestly I do not think that is what this is. Thank you I fixit. PS I love the kit I just bought :)

Lenovo Thinkpad T450s: laptop broke down after a few days of having trouble starting up

My laptop broke down after a few days of having trouble starting up. I guess it's a loose contact/the hard disk isn't properly connecting anymore, because sometimes it does start up and then it works as usual. Anyway, does anybody know a good and affordable place where they can fix this for me? Thanks!

Lenovo Thinkpad T450s: Brightness keys and webcam do not work after screen replacement

Hi all!

I recently replaced the screen on my Thinkpad t450s, which I bought second hand but I believe it was an original Lenovo product as far as I could ascertain.

After seemingly successfully replacing the screen, the brightness keys on the keyboard no longer work, nor is there an option in settings or the control panel, and my webcam pulses on and off when I try to use it.

The screen brightness is normal so I believe I haven’t shorted anything out, and I disconnected both batteries before replacing the screen as a precaution.

Is it a dodgy screen?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Lenovo Thinkpad T450s: Power was turned off during an update restart now it won't turn back o

I was doing some updates, since I had pushed the updates back a few days longer than intended and I don't know what they are. It said restarting for hours, but I didn't realize that it wasn't plugged in and it shut down, but now I can't get it to turn back on. I've only tried to plug it in and start it, but it doesn't turn on.

I hope that someone will be able to help me fix this issue myself, it's under warranty but I hope to fix it myself and not have to worry about sending it in. Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

it's a refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad T450s

Lenovo Thinkpad T450s: Lenovo Thinkpad T540 suddenly not charging and power button flashing

Unfortunately, out of the blue my Lenovo Thinkpad T450 stopped charging. When I plug in the AC, it simply gives me back flashing lights on the power button (non stop and medium speed). I have tried everything I’ve seen online, from turning it off, removing battery, pressing the power button for 30 sec and then put battery back and plug it to unplugging my CMOS battery and external battery at the same time repeating the procedure. Lenovo avantage tells me my batteries are healthy (or at least before my laptop turned off). It has been off since and I cannot turn it back on due to critical error 0190 Critical Low Battery.

Please help me as I use this laptop for work and uni, got so many files I need to have.

could it be the charger or is it the battery or anything else hardware/software?

thank you in advance!

Lenovo Thinkpad T450s: T450s compatibility with 01AV460 Battery with BIOS version beyond 1.30

I'm interested in purchasing a replacement battery from ifixit, but I need confirmation that it will work with my system, beyond normal system compatibility.

I have already bought another replacement from another aftermarket seller but came across the following problem: After a certain BIOS version (probably 1.20, not sure), the laptop will not allow the battery to be charged. This is compounded with the fact that the BIOS will not allow you to flash to a version under 1.30, once you have flashed beyond it, even after allowing downgrading in the BIOS config.

This is the message post POST but before boot loader:

The battery installed is not supported by this system and will not charge.
Please replace the battery with the correct Lenovo battery for this system.
Press the ESC key to continue.

My laptop is the 20BWS1E200 ThinkPad T450s, that comes with a ASM P/N 45N1126 FRU P/N 45N1127 battery (with a bight bright red 68).

The product I'm interested in Lenovo 01AV460 Battery

When i connect power cable fan spins for around 5 sec then turns off. (power button flashes 3 times I think that means that power cable is connected) .

Here's what I've tried:

- holding power button for 30 sec.

-disconnecting and reconnecting external and builtin battery

-pressing reset swich

-disconnecting and reconnecting CMOS battery

-messuring voltages, I messured 3v3, and 5v just fine, but when fans stops spinning voltages on cappacitors also go to 0v. Im new to board repairing so i don't know what to messure next, if anybody has any ideas i would be thankfull.
