Lenovo Thinkpad W520: Fan not spinning after swap!

Recently, the fan on my thinkpad stopped working (I assume the bearings went out- it was making a horrible grinding noise for a bit before it died completely) I've ordered the exact same part and replaced it (image), as well as re-pasting for good measure. However, when I try and boot now, it still refuses to spin at all, and so I still get "fan error" which forces shutdown even if I'm trying to get into BIOS/press esc... I've tried resetting by unplugging the CMOS and fully depowering the motherboard a few times, but no cigar. I've also used a multi-meter to make sure that there wasn't a connection issue, and every wire going into the fan is connected to the correct motherboard out, with no overlap between them. The fan is the exact same model as far as I can tell, identical down to the wire colors/order and all the text on it. I haven't been able to really find any post be about this precise issue, though I know the fan error message in itself is common. Additionally- I got a strip of reflective/metal tape with the fan part, which seemed to match up with what the original had, so I applied it where I remember it being. Not sure if it's actually important but I assumed it was for grounding. Am I missing something obvious? Has anyone run into this before?

Lenovo Thinkpad W520: Replaced screen and still a black screen is showing.

Hi guys, my Thinkpad W530's screen was cracked a few weeks ago. It displayed fine over to a monitor display.
Lenovo ThinkPad W Series: no logo or bios screen on internal or external monitor

I have a Lenovo w500 laptop. When I power on my computer on AC power, I do not see anything on the internal screen or the external screen. I hear the fan or something running in the computer. There are 3 indicator lights on at the bottom of the screen. 1. the AC plug is green 2. the battery symbol is flashing yellow. 3. the light next to that is green(looks like circle with Z slightly slanted inside)

I figure the battery is dead but it still should work when on AC power. I never see the Lenovo logo or BIOS screen or anything on the screens.

Lenovo ThinkPad W540: Help! Several issues after disassembling & reassembling!

Hello, I'm very unexperienced with this type of stuff, so please bear with me

My Thinkpad, that I recently took apart in order to clean out dust and replace thermal paste, won't work properly!

I watched a tutorial on YouTube (if needed I can link), but I lost a screw and I believe I misplaced some of them (that is my own mistake)

It won't start up unless I plug it up while it's booting, and even then there are still issues; the fans spin for a second but then it turns off, and I worry it may be something that is unrepairable!

Once I do get it started up, if I close it, it won't show anything on the screen and it'll beep 4 times

Sometimes the power button will just blink 3 times and it won't boot

It only works properly if I don't unplug it or close it

There are also issues with it that existed before I ever took it apart, such as:

The new (off-brand) battery doesn't work properly, it'll shut off seconds after turning it on even if it is fully charged

The WiFi sometimes refuses to work (does not show up at all) after I leave it closed/sleeping for a long period of time, and when I try troubleshooting, it tells me to enable 'wireless capability', this usually fixes after a restart

When I took it apart, I took things out such as the RAM, SSD and took out a lot of screws, and unplugged a few things. I'm afraid I may have messed something up, or forgotten to plug something back in.

I believe I put a lot of screws in the wrong places, and may have put some longer screws where shorter screws should have went.

I put everything back (to my knowledge)

Something I will note: I lost the screw to the disk drive, so I used a (longer) screw to replace that one. I'm thinking that may have something to do with it.

Please, I just recently got this laptop for Christmas and I really like it, I don't want it to be broken.

Thanks!

Update: Tried to power on with battery (not a charger), and it powered on just fine, but the problem with it beeping 4 times (4 times in a row) after closing it still persists

I also found the correct screw and replaced the longer screw with the proper one, however that didn't make a difference

Lenovo ThinkPad W550S: Power Supply outlet plug has signs of burn marks

I used this laptop for 3 to 4 years without any issues but once I started to use it more frequently for both Uni and personal use after about a year I started noticing burn traces on my outlet plug.

I then decided to substitute the power supply and outlet cable with an equivalent ISY power adapter. Seemed to work fine but after another 8 months or so my pc suddenly shut down after a month of many BOSD’s and never was able to boot back up. I tried removing the battery and wasn’t successful. I tried opening it up with my electrical engineer friend (since it was long over warranty) and we couldn’t see any clear indicators as to what happened so we assumed that something must have shorted on the motherboard. I have been hanging on to it as I was unsure if it is worth it to sell off my SSD and any other components. Also since it has a really nice 17” panel I was toying with the idea of building a monitor out of it. What do you guys think? Is any of this worth it? If so might you have some tips/tutorials on how to go about these types of re-purposing projects?

Thanks in Advance,
