Lenovo ThinkPad T580: Forgot to shake and keyboard cleaner foam shot everywhere.

I just got this laptop (used) (also it’s a T560 not that this matters)

I shot the keyboard cleaner out without shaking it and it came out as straight foam. The laptop was off and I took the battery out. I wiped off most of the residue but it wasn’t fast evaporating like it does normally. Right now the laptop is lying screen and keyboard side down on the carpet.

Help

Lenovo Thinkpad T580: Replace coating on scratched trackpad?

My Thinkpad is about 3 years old and one day I felt what I thought was dirt on the trackpad. I scratched it and the vinyl coating came off, now it has a nice big scratch across it!

Under th coating it is nice and shiny, so I was thinking of removing the trackpad from the laptop, scraping the rest of the coating, and spraying on a new coating. I found basically this suggestion on another page, which has very dubious instructions.

Has anyone ever tried this?
