Lenovo ThinkPad T470: ThinkPad T470 Battery Replacement Leads to Horribly Slow Performance

I own a Lenovo ThinkPad T470 and ordered a replacement battery (Item code: IF245-023-1) found here.

Once I installed my battery into my laptop, letting it fully charge, the computer speed has slowed down immensely. I am pretty sure I’ve purchased the correct battery spec.

What can possibly be wrong/what can I do to fix this issue?

Could the battery itself be faulty?

Lenovo ThinkPad T470: Dead battery or charger?

My T470’s battery warning came on whilst connected to the mains and it then switched off and refuses to power up. No lights light up when connecting or disconnecting the cable. Tried a phone charger with the correct connection with the same result. I assume it is a problem with the battery itself, but how do I tell?

Lenovo ThinkPad T470: Thunderbolt 3 Port Replacement

Hello all. The Thunderbolt 3 port on my Thinkpad T470 (Type 20HD) has stopped working. I have already installed all the driver updates to no avail. After inspecting the port closer, I found there is physical damage to the port and several of the pins are severely bent. I believe the only option is to replace it. However, there are basically no repair places that actually solder stuff on the motherboard, and it would more than likely be too expensive to pay a shop to do it. I am going to attempt to do it myself, and I was wondering if anybody has any tips before I do this.

Thanks,

Lenovo ThinkPad T470: Lenovo T470 fan connector stuck in motherboard socket

I have tried to remove the 5 pin fan plug from my laptop motherboard but it only wiggles. I have tried my fingernails, tweezers, and pliers but it has mostly resulted in the sides of the plug getting damaged. In addition, the tweezers and pliers often slip off the plug, resulting in some of the wires getting disconnected from the head. Is it possible that the plug has been glued in? I have had the laptop serviced before by Lenovo.

I was opening up the laptop to clean up water damage. I don’t see any evidence of water damage around the port but is it still possible that might be what is causing it to get stuck?

I notice when I try to get it out with pliers the plastic seems to be pulling away from the metal component which seem stuck fast.

Is there anything I can do besides desoldering the fan from the cpu?

Update (11/08/2021)
