Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3: Looking for a compatible SSD storage to upgrade in 2025

Hi, I've been thinking to upgrade the SSD on my laptop and was looking for a reliable not too expensive option. I have the AMD model (21C6S4WY00).

Some of the SSD I've looked into are the following:

Sabrent - Rocket 1TB M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0 NVMe TLC SSD: https://sabrent.com/products/sb-1342-1tb

ThinkPad 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4*4 OPAL 2242 internal SSD: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/accessori...

Samsng - 980 1 TB SSD NVMe™ M.2: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/mem...

9100 PRO 1TB SSD NVMe™ M.2: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/mem...

Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD 1TB, PCIe Gen 4x4, Gen 5x2 M.2 2280: https://a.co/d/hQSE1DU

I'm not so sure if it's a big difference between Gen3 and 4, or if my laptop will even support Gen4, it just seems a bit hard to find Gen3 now days and they're about the same price. I'm open to any other suggestions or any input in regard, thanks!

Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3: Display ribbon possibly faulty

Display stopped working shortly after it was dropped. Started having black screens after being turned on for a while, then more frequently and sooner after being turned on. Moving the lid past a certain angle made some visual glitches; it looked like the static from a damage HDMI cable. I took it to a repair guy, he put new thermal paste on my processor, and showed me the display ribbon I needed to buy.

When it arrived, alas, I was impatient, and not sure I could afford the price he quoted me for the repair, so I tried to fix it myself. No love; display won't turn on at all.

Is there a chance I can fix this myself? I'm on a fixed income and don't have a lot of wiggle room with finances.

Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3: laptop resetting after clicking shut down hardware problem?

Had this problem with most OS's/distros tried mint, fedora, arch after clicking shutdown or typing in any command it rests the laptop same problem happens with windows 11 after turning fast startup off it fully resets instead of shutting down so is not an OS problem but a hardware problem?

Reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/commen...

PS: after clicking shutdown in any Linux disto the trackpad inverts and sometimes won't even work till I hard shutdown with clicking the power button for a few seconds but that doesn't apply with windows, might be the trackpad?
