Lenovo G780: Backlit screen, no display

When I turn on my laptop, I can't see the log in page, yet my screen is backlit. When I hook up an external monitor I can see my desktop. Is my cable to the screen busted? Can I repair it easily? Or do I need a pro?

Lenovo G780: Lenovo G700 randomly shuts off

I have an old G700 notebook from Lenovo which randomly shuts off.

It doesn’t matter if it’s under load or just idling.

No bluescreen, no warnung. It just shuts off like someone is pulling the power cord.

Also it doesn’t matter if booted into Windows or just idling in the Bios.

Temps are fine.

What I’ve tried so far:

- Replaced Mainboard

- Replaced CPU

- Replaced RAM

- Replaced HDD

- Removed Optical Drive, WiFi Card and Keyboard

- Disconnected the little board with the power/reset buttons on it

- Tried with Battery only

- Tried with Power Cord only

- Tried with both Battery and Power Cord

So pretty much all the main parts were replaced and some optional parts were removed.

Issue still persists.

The only thing left untouched is the display which runs fine.

Lenovo G780: Lenovo G780 overheating problems

Hello Everyone!

This is my first time here, I recently bought a Lenovo G780 with an 2.5 GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM and 2.5GB of graphics (ATi 8650G + 8570M Dual Graphics). I am facing two problems.

1. After about 30-45 minutes of gaming, the laptop gets really hot and just shuts off to prevent the internal components from melting. I wanted to know if there is anyway to increase the fan speed as it doesn't seem to increase on its own when the GPU heats up?

2. When I check the temperatures of the laptop when on idle, the processor's temperature keeps fluctuating from anywhere between 81C to 92C. This isn't normal right? Also is HWMonitor a reliable temperature monitor?

i have read this article on chron but still my problem persists. tell me what to do

Lenovo G780: USB 2.0 works only if I connect something in USB 3.0

Hello,

I have a Lenovo G780 with a strange issue. There are 4 x USB ports, 2 x 2.0 and 2 x 3.0 . Strangely, I got going the USB 2.0 ports, but only If I connect a USB stick to one of the 2 USB 3.0 ports.

The one in the 3.0 does not show up, but if I remove it, it removes the ones in the 2.0 as well.

Tried so far: 3 softwares for driver finder, disabled xhci from BIOS, different ports disabled, disabled and uninstalled in the device manager in different ways all the universal bus devices, reinstalled Windows, getting out the battery and emptying the condensers, tried the low filter and high filter in registry editor, disabled power management on USB, but no luck.

I've noticed that there are 2 Intel chipset, one does nothing when disabled, the other one does.

Lenovo G780: Upgrade LCD Screen to Full HD

Hello, I just bought Lenovo G780, and was so excited about it's spec vs price and a free ram upgrade offered to me, that I totally forgot about screen resolution.

Is it possible to upgrade Lenovo G780's 1600xXXX screen to full hd? What connector and screen controller does it use? What types of screens are compatible with this laptop?

Thanks!
