Lenovo Essential G560: Issue with won't boot and black screen after HDD upgrade

What happen: My laptop was working fine, no blue screen issue, no funny business at all. I bought a new SSD Intel 120 GB and thought it would be a good idea to replace the HDD. I shutdown and disconnected the power adapter, waited a couple of minutes and removed the battery. I opened up the back case and replaced the HDD. And put all the screws back and put the battery back in.

Problem: The very first time I turned the power on, nothing happens besides a black screen. I pressed the dvd drive it works and opens up and closes. I waited for about 30 mins and still has blac screen. When I mean black screen, no bios menu, no logo, just a black screen with the fan sound on.

I have tried these:

1. Unplugged everything - battery, adapter, and pressed the power on button for about 60 seconds, nothing, the laptop turns on with the LED display on for both on and battery LED's. But nothing but black screen, no sound of windows loading just the fan and black screen.

2. I tried putting back my old 2.5" and nothing but black screen.

Thoughts and suggestions?

Lenovo Essential G560: How To Fix Loose Charging Port and sometimes '0% plugged in,charging'?

Hi, I have a Lenovo G560 and it is a bit dodgy. Before discovering that my laptop had a loose charging port, I noticed that sometimes it would charge and sometimes it wouldn't. When it was low there was a red flashing light on the row of 4 lights (from left to right; a power light, a battery light, an internet access light and another light I could not understand). The first time, the battery would leak very fast, then enter a sleep mode (I think). After a while, if it was charging, it would turn back on, but if it wasn't I had to force shut down it (by pressing and holding down the power button). When it turned back on, the laptop showed '0%, plugged in, charging' but it wouldn't charge. For the first time, I shut down then turned on the laptop and then it went back to normal. But on the second time, it started charging after 5-10 minutes, all the way to 100% battery.

Please help me! I only have one laptop and my whole family uses it. I need it for my school education. Please respond ASAP...

Lenovo Essential G560: Laptop won't turn on. (Only care about HDD)

So a couple month ago my around 7 year old Lenovo g560 decided to just die infront of me. The problem isn’t with the battery, I think.

When plugged in, nothing happens. When left to charge and then turned on, nothing happens. I’ve tried some YouTube repair guides, but again, nothing happens.

Primarily I’d just like to save the hard drive on it. If someone could tell me if the laptop not working has corrupted data or not I’d be thankful. If I had to say what died, I’d say the motherboard did.

Lenovo Essential G560: On upgrading the RAM windows just dies

My Laptop supports max frequency of 8500 Mhz but I later I realized that I have installed a 10600S (2GB DDR3) in it and its working but its not sufficient for Windows 10. Its an old laptop and I think of using it as a server.

So I took a 4 GB DDR3 with 12800S (1600 Mhz) from my other laptop and installed in it, it POSTed fine but Windows is crashing. So I want to buy a RAM (1333 Mhz) but I don't know if it will work or not. The Samsung 1333 Mhz RAM stick is cheaper and 1066 Mhz Stick is costly, I know they run at lower frequency but will they run?

Lenovo Essential G560: When I start the computer, the screen is blank

Hi, I have a similar issue. When I start the computer, the screen is blank, and I hear the fan goes on and off all the time. The computer wont start (the bios is not starting). If I wait for a long period of time (sometimes even a day or two!!!) it eventually starts, and works fine.

So, unless someone knows how to fix this planned obsolescence issue, I would recommend not to turn the computer off...

Lenovo Essential G560: How to run external display from boot?

I was givin this laptop with the built in display broken(can only see bottem right corner) and ive tried connecting an external monitor to it but it won't switch to the display till windows is loaded. It has the Novo button(onekey recovery) and I've tried all standard keys for entering bios in hopes of blindly switching default display, also have tried using fun-ction keys to switch displays. I'm wondering if there is a key to enter bios that i haven't figured out(f1,f2,f10,del,esc,f12 haven't worked) the Novo button just brings me to the recovery screen(and not a menu where I can select bios or boot like other Lenovo models). If anyone else has had this issue or someone can direct me to a fix I'd be grateful.
