I’m having an issue with a laptop that hasn’t been used in over a year. When I press the power button, the light comes on, the fans spin for 2–3 seconds, then everything shuts off. It repeats this cycle a few times. The screen stays completely black.

I’ve tried:

  • Starting without the battery, just with the charger
  • Holding the power button to drain static
  • Removing and reinserting the SSD, also tried without it
  • Entering BIOS, but it shuts off before I can get in

It shows that it’s charging when plugged in.

Any ideas on what could be wrong or what else I can try?
