Lawn Mower: Mower won't start unless I put gas in the spark plug well

I have a Briggs and Stratton 4-cycle, OHV, self-propelled mower. It is several years old, we just got it from a friend. It worked the first few times we tried, then just woudn't start. I changed the spark plug and air filter. Still nothing. Then I pulled out the spark plug and put a little bit of gas in the well. It started and ran like a champ for an hour while I finished the lawn. I believe this is a carburetor problem, but don't know for sure and I am a novice repair guy who wants to learn how to do all this myself. What do I need to clean/fix/replace, and how do I do it?

Thanks so much.

Black And Decker Cordless Electric Mower MM2000 TYPE 1 2015: Lawnmower turns on immediately after plugging in MM2000 Black Decker

Once plugged in, lawnmower (Black and Decker MM2000 corded) will start itself and won’t stop until unplugged even when bail lever is up. When I separated the switch (https://www.ebay.com/itm/365473010435) from all wires and tested with multimeter, there is continuity between the screw where the black wire was screwed in and where the other terminal with the black wire and rubber insulator was before it was removed. Same with red to green. So both bottom and bottom / top to top have continuity. When the switch (which is normally connected to the bail lever) is pulled, the top to top aka red to green continuity is disrupted. The bottom to bottom aka black to black is not however. I am still learning about how all this stuff works so any ideas on next steps to figure out how come this lawnmower isn’t properly starting up safely would be helpful.

Toro Lawn Mower 20363 2019: Lawnmower won't restart

Hello,

I have a Toro Flex-Force 60 Volt Model 20367 which looks remarkably similar to Toro Lawn Mower 20363 2019.

The problem I have is that when I drop in a freshly charged battery, close the safety lever to the handle, and push the blue start key, it starts up fine.

After use, I stop the mower by releasing the safety lever.

If I want to start it again, I can close the safety lever to the handle, but the lawnmower will not restart.

I have to remove the battery and drop it back in again.

Gets annoying to do this every time I wish to restart the lawnmower.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

K-Gro PowerPro Lawnmower: What belt to replace drive belt?

The belt that engages when the self-propel is on snapped, but I am having trouble finding a replacement for it.
Troy-bilt lawn mower: Mower will not engage - wheels do not move forward

My self propelled mover is a Toy Built 22", 5.50 horsepower, Briggs and Stratton 550 Series, 158 cc, Model Number

12A-264U011, number directly the model number is 303526.

I changed the height of cut today, started the mower, engaged the self propelled arm and processed to cut grass. The mower moved forward and cut about5 feet, then all of a sudden just stopped moving forward. I released the arm and engaged again, the mower moved forward under power, then stopped again.

Can you tell me what to look for? I did note that the line that is attached to the forward motion arm is a bit loose, that is, it has some slack in it.

This has been a great mower. I had it exactly one year and 3 months. I purchased this mower after my husband passed and needed something I could handle at the old age of 70.

Awaiting your response.
