LG V30: motherboard swap between different v30 versions

Hi,

I have a V30 (US998 128GB) that I dropped it and now the screen flickers. A new screen cost approx $100 and then I would have to pay someone to install it since I'm not comfortable with screen replacement.

So I'm thinking about buying a less popular (cheaper) used V30 like a locked T-mobile H932 64GB or even one with a bad IMEI and just swapping out the motherboard with my current one. I assume that all other parts are exactly the same.

I am comfortable enough swapping the motherboard, its all the other tiny parts and the screen that scare me.

Can you think of any compatibility issues that may arise, if my put my current motherboard in a different version v30 or does this sound like a good plan?

Thanks in advance!

LG V30: Do I need full lcd+touch screen replacement?

Hi, my device is LG W30, since it's not listed I just selected V30. So, I dropped my phone and have a black spot on the screen. Touch works great even on the black spot. If I have to get it repaired, do I have to buy the whole lcd+ touch screen set or is there any other way?

This is how it looks if I took a screenshot.

LG V30: What methods can I use to unlock the boot loader on my device?

¡Good evening! Thank you guys for a job well done. I have been a long time member of your site and have repaired hundreds of devices with your help. I currently own a Hong Kong variant of the V30, but it’s boot loader is locked, causing me to have a below standard experience with my LTE network. Due to the correct ones being disabled by default. Is there any way known to you through hardware of software that I could use to unlock it myself? LG has not responded to my requests and there is no software available yet that can unlock that model. What hardware/procedure do I need to get thge job done?

Thanks!

LG V30: What glue to fix corners

I have broken my screen. All 4 corners are smashed. But no cracks run throws visible display. I want to glue corners to prevent falling pieces apart. Maybe some epoxy? Now it is only in surrounding part of screen. So something what helps keep it as long as passible without continuing falling apart. And then i would use a 3d protective screen glass. Which i hope helps screen also not to continuing screen decomposition.

What glue use for the corners?

Is my plan whit a protective glass use as plaster to add display bending duratibility totally nonsense?

I know i eventually will let change display in service shop. But for now i can live with this demage. So a cheaper temporary solution is what i want for now.

Thanks for any advice.
